Girlfriend of missing Endicott man speaks out about disappearance

Dominic Davy is a Binghamton University professor, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a father. The 30-year-old was last seen leaving his home in Endicott 4 a.m. Friday, April 10.
Oglesby says Davy would often leave the home as early as four o’clock in the morning to go for runs on trails along the Susquehanna River. His brown Jeep was found near the river at 400 River Terrace in Endicott.
Endicott Police say they have not found evidence that would indicate criminal activity.

Davy, 30, is described as being a 6-foot-1-inch black male who weighs 190 to 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has his left ear and left nostril pierced, a tattoo on his left arm and a scar on the right side of his face. Investigators determined Davy was last seen wearing a dark shirt and shorts with gray and orange sneakers.

Police discovered Davy’s brown Jeep on the 400th block of the River Terrace apartments in Endicott, and are currently pursuing multiple leads. They have also begun carrying out river searches. In a statement on April 14, officials with the Endicott Police Department said they do not currently believe foul play is involved in Davy’s disappearance, but cannot rule anything out until the investigation is closed.

@TatianaBarbie maybe you can sleuth a little deeper with this case if you get a chance. :)

He looks like an awesome guy with a lovely family and a lot going for him. Maybe it’s all the photos they’ve shared, giving people a glimpse into his life. Idk, it’s just so sad for any family to be dealing with a missing loved one. :( Hope he is safely found soon.

I live on the other side of town from this gentleman. I don't know him, but know the area very well.

The 400-block of River Terrace has a couple of nicer apartment buildings, a park (Mersereau Park), and a cemetery; further down the block it's entirely residential. Endicott has declined over the years and is pretty rough in many areas, but this is a fairly decent section of town (homes are well-kept, if you drive down the street you don't see large groups smoking blunts on the front porch and yelling at passers-by.) There are walking paths along the river, and an extensive rail-trail system on the other side of the river, but it doesn't really make sense to park along the street there to get access to either trail -- there are plenty of designated parking lots for both trail systems and they don't require you to walk several blocks to pick up the trail.

Endicott Police say they conducted a search in the river near where his Jeep was found. So far, Endicott Police say they have not found evidence that would indicate criminal activity, but they are not yet ruling out suspicion.

Dominic's girlfriend doesn't seem to have any idea why he would be missing. If he stays late at work, he communicates with her.

It doesn't say (maybe I missed this) what time he left the house on Friday? But girlfriend says he often left early to go jogging. I'm hoping he didn't meet up with someone who harmed him. According to deadfoot13 above, the area his vehicle was found in is close to a residential area. That may indicate a vehicle dump scenario. If he regularly runs the trails, why wouldn't he park in a designated p-lot?

Deadffot13 do you know if there are cameras in the trail parking area or nearby?

There is a trail that runs between the end of my street and Vestal Ave; it's shown as a green dotted line on the map I've attached. I haven't walked the trail since last Fall, but at that time there were no visible cameras along the trail or at either end. Doorbell cameras are gaining popularity in the area, so one of the houses surrounding the area they found his Jeep may have picked up something. I'll swing by on my way home this evening to see if there are any cameras visible at the park or apartment buildings on River Terrace.

My sister-in-law works at BU, and says that he is a graduate student there, not a professor. I'm sorry, I do not have MSM to back that up at this point, but not sure it really makes a difference either way.

Interesting academic history of Dominic--he was expected to complete his doctoral dissertation in May 2020:

Binghamton Dominic Michael Davy | Center for Inclusive Education

"Dominic was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. His immediate family is originally from the island of Jamaica. He attended private schools for his compulsory education and began his collegiate career at Binghamton University graduating in 2012 as a proud member of their Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). After his undergraduate education, Dominic enlisted in the United States Army where he served for 5 years and completed a Masters degree in Public Administration during his service. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Community Research and Action at Binghamton University and is interested in the lived experiences of black students in relation to public education. Dominic is a father of two growing boys and he and his partner enjoy going on both big and small adventures with their family. Dominic is expected to defend his dissertation entitled, "Education and Social Death: Black Students' Lived Experiences with School Discipline " in May 2020. . ." BBM

I just google walked the access to that trail. There is no parking area for that paved trail. It starts on a narrow street in the block after the apartments. Parking near the apartments makes sense to me, if he wanted to access the trail, but Dominic would also be close to the bridge over the Susquehanna River. Here is the depth chart for the week including April 10th (depth was between 7 - 7.5 ft):

Edited to replace chart with a better chart.

The girlfriend named in the linked article, "AO", has been posting multiple times about Dominic being missing. I searched FB for her name, and she was the third profile on the list of people.

Edited to correct that the correct "AO" was the third, not the first, profile on the FB search list.

I'm Thor in Avengers: Endgame

Why was Thor still worthy in endgame?
As "Avengers: Endgame" points out, Thor is still worthy of Mjolnir, even after he has failed many times, because he has learned that worthiness isn't determined solely by success. That's his story arc, and it's one with a lesson that everyone who feels unworthy of their own Mjolnirs can benefit from watching.

Probably humor driven, but I noted this post on DD's facebook page and the time it was posted. There is another post on his facebook page where someone asks him if he is getting another degree. He answers the same one he's been trying to get since 2017. Again, just putting it out here for discussion, but could he have been stressed about achieving educational goals?

He seems to be a well adjusted handsome man, awesome father and supportive SO to his girlfriend. Maybe he's on a self-imposed TO somewhere.

I live 3 blocks from the far end of the trail, and walk it several times a year with my dog. There are parking areas for both ends of the trail -- if you noticed, the trail starts in the 500-block of River Terrace (his car was found in the 400-block) and ends at Riverview Drive, about a mile away. The Riverview Drive parking area sits in the shadow of Route 26, the other parking area is at the public utilities plants on River Terrace/Hunt/South Streets. There would be no reason to park in the 400-block if your intent was to walk/run on the trail. If you didn't want to park in the lot for the light department, there is plenty of on-street parking available on Hunt and South Streets, within feet of the trailhead and you wouldn't have to walk across Vestal Ave, which almost always has heavy traffic.

Here is a map, and I have some photos of the 400-block of River Terrace, but it is not allowing me to upload them. I will work on resizing them and see if it makes a difference.

Map: 1=400-block of River Terrace; 2=available parking for west end of trail we were discussing; 3=available parking for east end of trail we were discussing

Photos:
