I live in Endicott and graduated from the department he is studying and teaching in. I didn't know him personally but feel drawn to this. Out of curiosity, I found his Twitter account: @doomyay
The last post was written late on April 8th around 12:30am. It says:

"Am not smacked enough, or do I really don’t wanna do it."

To me, this sounds like he was saying "Am I not high/drunk enough, or do I not want to do it" with "it" possibly alluding to self-harm, suicide, running away, etc. His last liked tweet was one in which a person was lamenting the loss of someone:

"A student texted me “He’s gone” and I just started to cry. Did the best I could to counsel them but this is all so hard over the phone. Trying times for everyone."

It really sounds like he was thinking about suicide - this decision and whether he wants to do it, as well as how it affects others.
Think about it, his 30th birthday was just days prior on April 5th. He celebrated this milestone in quarantine. He was supposed to be defending his thesis and graduating with his phD in just one month. This economic disaster and the social isolation and its effects probably created the perfect storm when combined with the pressure of achieving. I truly hope he didn't take his own life, but with the bridge over the Susquehanna right near where he left his car, it's not far-fetched.
Welcome to Websleuths, @Thecatsaway, and thank you for a very insightful first post. I'm sure everyone is concerned about Dominic perhaps taking his own life, but there is still a chance that he might be taking a break from life somewhere. He had many stressful events in his life, but he also had many positive things.

There is also the chance that he had an accident--perhaps he sat on the banks of the river after his run, and accidentally fell in to the river.

I hope Dominic can be found soon, as IMO his family is suffering.

I am hoping that he fell while running and hit his head and is out of it. He has been missing too many days.

I think if that was the case he'd be dead by now unfortunately.

I also think that he would likely have been found by now, as the trails in the immediate area aren't remote and are well-traveled. I do think that if he went in the water, it could be some time before he's found as there are all kinds of trees and debris in the bottom of the river.

I haven't seen anything further regarding searches, either.

I agree. I also think that it's unlikely that he went running, as the first articles (and the first post in this thread) mentioned that he may have been carrying his laptop and a blue carry style bag. It would be highly unusual to bring your laptop with you if you're just going for a run. If you didn't want people to access your computer after you went missing though, it would make sense.

@Thecatsaway welcome! Great first comments. Your words are my thoughts, as well. Thanks for joining.

I'm kind of sorry that I came across this thread. It fills me with dread for the this family. Challenging times for so many. I hope this young father is safe and that he rejoins his family.

brainstorming possibilities...

Is it possible he took his laptop & bag because he wasn’t going back home afterwards, but instead heading somewhere else which warranted having his computer?

It would not be surprising for someone who is intending to take their own life to take their laptop to type some last words to loved ones/look at photos one last time, or alternatively to destroy it for privacy reasons. But if the first is relevant to Dominic's state of mind, the laptop would be with him right now, and would not suggest he is in the water and his body is local. If the second is relevant, and he went into the water, the laptop may have been discarded in the water first.

No updates today?

i was unable to find any type of update. This young man looks so happy in the photos that have been shared! He seemed to have so much going for him too. I pray he is located soon.

Hi all,
I went to college with Dominic. I know him personally. I graduated in 2011 and he did in 2012. I haven't heard from him since i graduated but i want thank you guys for at least putting in efforts to find him. In college, Dominic was always a jokester and fun person to be around. He never has enemies that i know of and always seem to enjoy life. He was always one to find humor in any situation. So some of those tweets you posted may very well be in character. But i understand that stress of life can change a person.

Welcome to WS, and thank you for sharing what a great guy Dominic is. I'm holding out hope that he just needed to take a break and will contact his family soon.
