I'm assuming these remains were very degraded which explains some of the non-specific information on Namus. I'm guessing this indicates the remains didn't provide many visual clues.

My pick would be Phucnhan Hoang, went missing 28 Aug 18 (UID was found 2 Oct). He was enroute from Ocean Parkway Brooklyn Hospital to his Cropsey Ave assisted living facility. He matches age, rough location, hair colour although height is a little off. Mr Hoang went missing 28 Aug 18 and UID was found 2 Oct 18.
Using rough guesstimes about Mr Hoang's last known location to where the UID was found (again, no specifics on Namus) is only 16-17mi and I'm guessing easily achieved on public transport in the area we are talking about? Especially if Mr Hoang were confused or suffering alzheimers or other illness affecting his directional capacity.

Then again clothing as apparently worn by Mr Hoang doesn't match. There is no mention of his shoes or size to see if they match the UID. Mr Hoang was also a large man (though not tall) and there is no mention of UID clothing size to compare.

(I'm not sure when Mr Hoang was added to Namus but his record says modified on 13 Nov 19.)

@MadMcGoo my last request (for today!) any r/o on Namus at all?

Poor guy ... too bad there isn’t some sort of sketch or photo for him - no PMI listed either, hmm. Hoang does seem like a good match. His NamUs was created 16 Oct 2018, no exclusions listed for him.

Current list of exclusions for UP53367:
MP56006 Feng Ye 08/02/2018 Northampton PA
MP52852 Young Kim 09/02/2018 New York NY (link not
accessible)

Thanks, that's quite useful. From the dates of the other MPs they have checked, LE do seem to be considering those with a last date of contact quite close to the date the UID was found. My impression from reading Namus (which just says PMI was "2018") was that perhaps they were thinking the remains were older.

However I just went into Phucnhan Hoang's Namus link and as of two hours after MadMcGoo's post, it is down. Hopefully he has been found!

Oh wow!! It sure is down! (I didn’t doubt your word) fingers crossed he is safe!

ETA: Yah, 2018 listed for PMI makes sense I guess... I assume “found hanging” would no longer be applicable after a certain amount of time. Exactly how much time I’m not sure
