Circumstances of Disappearance:
Vallese went missing from Fishkill, New York on May 14, 1979. He was last seen around 8:30 PM, driving northbound on the New York State Thruway leaving New York City. He has never been heard from again.

Vallese was reported missing by his estranged wife after he didn't come to pick up their daughters as scheduled. Nothing was missing from his home, and his blue 1977 Chevrolet was located at his residence on Smithtown Road in Fishkill, New York on May 23, 1979.

Vallese may have been involved in organized crime in New York City in 1979. Authorities would like to talk to Teddy Cohen, an associate of his from the Bronx. They've never been able to locate Cohen and believe the name could be an alias.

Authorities stated they could find no evidence of foul play in Vallese's disappearance and it's possible he went into hiding, possibly in a witness protection program. His case is unsolved and his whereabouts remain unknown.

I have reason to believe that these may be the same person, could someone call it in please as I'm in the UK, and there are only phone numbers to contact and not an email. Dates match, height, beard line Gaetano was balding on top, and one of the tattoos sort of match although there could be some eye witness confusion. Weight loss would be explained by John doe being homeless. Getting 75 percent match on face recognition software. Many thanks!

I know. But often eye witness get confused or forget exactly where tattoos are and what they are. It's very close.

Gaetano "Guy" Richard Vallese went missing from Fishkill, New York in 1979, and was suspected of being involved in organized crime. Then on April 7th, 1996 a man was "found in an abandoned building in the 2000 block of West 21st Street" in Chicago, IL. Vallese and the unidentified man visually look absolutely identical.

Height is off by 2 inches which isn't significant, however, Vallese had a tattoo on his right upper arm of a Cross in Heart "in memory of Mom." Although, it is highly believed that wanted people involved in organized crime will change their face and have tattoos removed.
