Huge gas explosion destroys upstate New York church and 'injures 13'​

Multiple people are reported injured following a huge explosion at a church in New York.

Images from the scene in Boonville in upstate New York showed the Abundant Life Fellowship Church engulfed in flames.

The cause of the explosion is not yet clear, however local reports indicated a gas odor was emanating from the burning building.

The explosion occurred at 10:23am local time Tuesday, and early reports indicate as many as 13 people may be injured.

Emergency crews rushed to a Boonville, New York, church after a reported explosion injured multiple people, with helicopters called to the scene.
