Memories.
Memories, indeed. I expect there will be plenty more to come.

Thank you :) I did wonder if it was because she may been seen as a problem with some things she has said
I am thinking same thing, plus the accusations made against Prince A --
I mean, if he partook in orgy festivities, then he did but he is royalty after all and I bet a whole can of legal worms would come out if they allowed it or pursued it in court.
( I am NOT excusing him at all, just thinking of legal reasons why they are keeping her testimony out, among many reasons.)
I don't know and only taking a logical guess.

Ghislaine Maxwell's defense keeps 'spotlight' on Epstein, other powerful men

The British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell is the one accused of sex trafficking, but during the first five days of testimony in a New York City courtroom her lawyers have put her deceased boss, Jeffrey Epstein, and his famous friends on trial, legal experts say.

That strategy quickly became evident on the first day of the long-awaited trial when attorney Bobbi Sternheim, in her opening statement, dipped into the book of Genesis to defend Maxwell.

“Ever since Eve was tempting Adam with the apple, women have been blamed for the bad behavior of men,” Sternheim said. “She is not Jeffrey Epstein, she is not like Jeffrey Epstein.”

In fact, Maxwell’s defense team is subtly trying to portray her as Epstein’s first victim, the experts said.

"The #MeToo movement is not over,” he said. “The defense is trying to make the point that Epstein and all these men were involved, but they are unavailable to be prosecuted, but we’ve got her.”

The first victim on the stand testified she was 14 when she was first sexually abused, and she wasn't a sex worker.

Yes, but they're positioning these charges for Epstein and Ghislaine as an accomplice/working for Epstein. There is an argument for coercion, for when you take large sums of money in exchange for service, it becomes controversial. From past cases, this will get her 3 years probation (for the accomplice).

I want to see direct charges against her as the primary.

I'm not sure I follow. If you sexually abuse and traffic a 14 year old it's not serious/'becomes controversial' if you chuck her some cash afterwards?

The charges do include Maxwell participating in the abuse, as was testified to by Minor Victim 1, maybe not by physical contact, but she was allegedly present.

I'm a bit at a loss as to your perspective on this. And for the sake of clarity, in my opinion, meeting a random 14 year old girl at an arts camp doesn't suggest in any way, whatsoever, that she could have been mistaken for a sex worker.

I am just going by past cases. These type of charges don't stick for an accomplice. However the main perpetrator is generally present and gets the harsh punishment. In this case JE can be found guilty for: sex trafficking, attempted sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, etc. GM is being positioned as someone working for JE and was influenced by him.

Look at the NXIVM case. The actual company that was recruiting young women and grooming them into 'sex slaves' and branding them (including a minor) was run by women and associates of Keith. He was clever to not have his name on any official record although he was pulling the strings.

At the end, he got 120 years, and his co-founder women and recruiters got less than three years or just probation.

After all the hype for years, the JE/GM case is clearly neutered. They only have four witnesses? really?

I think I'm not understanding the point you are making. GM worked with JE as a partner in his criminal activities. She was present and participated in JE's crimes making her criminally responsible. She recruited underage girls for JE and his cohorts to rape. She groomed and mind-controlled some of the underage girls to recruit more underage girls for JE and his pals to rape. GM and JE lived together and worked together as equals. I see GM as a criminal-equal to JE.

Your post has aroused my curiosity. Do you think the government should not have bothered bringing this case to trial?

No.

They have way more than 4 witnesses besides the victims.

They have 4 victims which is plenty. Even just one deserves justice.

She is charged as the primary in her case:

GHISLAINE Maxwell faces six charges:
  • Conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts
  • Enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex
  • Conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity
  • Transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity
  • Sex trafficking conspiracy

That's exactly what happened in the NXIVM case. Nancy Salzman was running the entire organization responsible for recruiting and grooming, she was an expert in NLP if you want to call it mind-control and got the likes of Allison Mack to become recruiter of more young vulnerable girls into their 'cult'. The parallels are uncanny.

IMO There are too many powerful people that are being protected and as a result they're not bringing charges that will actually lock her up for long.

Yes, but in the trial, they're all deferred to JE and GM as a glorified manager to JE with some personal relationships. I hope they bring the spotlight back on GM this week.

Ghislaine Maxwell family seeking food, soap for sister as trial continues
The restraints cause bruising, broken skin and other "unnecessary trauma," the family said.

Ghislaine Maxwell's family has written to Attorney General Merrick B. Garland requesting that authorities stop using four-point restraints to shackle her hands, waist and feet when she is moved from a holding cell to the courtroom, and that she receive a food pack and a bar of soap each day. The family also asked that she be allowed to meet with her attorneys for at least 30 minutes before and after each day's proceedings.

"Silenced No More": One woman's allegations of abuse by Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell

"What role did Ghislaine Maxwell play?" Williams asked.

"She was the organizer," Ransome replied. "She was the engineer. She orchestrated everything."

Ghislaine Maxwell had a privileged upbringing in the United Kingdom. The daughter of a wealthy newspaper tycoon, she reportedly introduced Epstein to the famous and the powerful. But Ransome describes Maxwell as an "aristocratic pimp" who facilitated Epstein's assaults.

Boo stinking hoo. She's in jail, not a 5 star hotel.

I'm surprised they didn't insist a mint be left on her pillow and her hand towels be folded like swans, as well.

I find it difficult to believe that Madame Maxwell is not receiving any soap or any food.

@MartaDhanis

'victim 3' or 'Kate' (pseudonym) will take the stand.
They are not going in order.
From the indictment, we know she says the defendant groomed and befriended her in London, btw 1994-1995. The accuser says GM encouraged her to massage Epstein, knowing he wd engage in sex acts with her.

The alleged victim says she was under 18 the and during those massages, Epstein sexually abused her; GM was aware that Epstein engaged in sexual activity with her on multiple occasions.

UPDATE: judge Nathan sided with defense and considers that "Kate" is not a victim of the crimes charged in the indictment bc of her age at the time. Therefore, "Kate" is testifying as a 'witness' and gov is limited to what they can ask her.
