It was her deliberate, prepared choice to come on aggressively regarding exposing victims' names after promising to protect those names (among other offsensives).

For years, accusations against Maxwell and Epstein were obscured by legal maneuvers — most famously, a controversial nonprosecution agreement Epstein reached in 2007 with federal prosecutors in Florida.
That plea deal with then-U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta led to state charges against Epstein, but it also prevented him and any co-conspirators — including, allegedly, Maxwell — from being prosecuted in federal sex crimes in southern Florida.
In addition to its leniency, the deal was also criticized because it implied Epstein's victims were prostitutes: Although more than 30 teens filed police reports with Palm Beach Police alleging sexual crimes by Epstein, he pleaded guilty only to two felony prostitution charges at the state level, As part of Epstein's plea agreement, he was sentenced to only 18 months in jail-- but left every morning on work release, and was required to register as a sex offender
After reading Maxwell's 400+ page unsealed 2016 deposition, where she makes AG Bondi look like a kitten, I'm just sick knowing that this evil couple managed to be punished for crimes against only one victim --Virginia Roberts Giuffre, and the FBI and DOJ insist there will be no additional indictments. JMO

The settlement deal between disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre, one of his main accusers, was publicly released Monday, after being kept secret for more than a decade.
The 2009 agreement was filed under seal in two court cases that pit Giuffre against the U.K.'s Prince Andrew and attorney Alan Dershowitz. Giuffre says Epstein arranged for her to have sex with the men on multiple occasions when she was a minor. At the time, her last name was Roberts.

In the agreement, Giuffre agreed to end her [civil] lawsuit, filed as Jane Doe No. 102 vs. Jeffrey Epstein, in exchange for Epstein agreeing to give Giuffre $500,000 "and other valuable consideration," an accommodation that was not explained in detail.
Some terms of the deal also apply to "second parties" and "other potential defendants," categories that could apply to many of Epstein's alleged co-conspirators. For instance, the agreement states that upon taking effect, it will "remise, release, acquit, satisfy, and forever discharge" anyone who could be a potential defendant from state or federal lawsuits filed by Giuffre.
The expansive terms of the agreement apply "from the beginning of the world to the day of this release."

The transcript is more than 400 pages long, but it has been redacted to protect the privacy of some people it mentions.
The transcript is finally being unsealed after a back-and-forth legal battle between Maxwell and Virginia Giuffre, who has accused Maxwell, Epstein and others of sexually abusing her when she was a minor. In it, Maxwell repeatedly denies "recruiting" girls for Epstein or taking part in orgies and other activities.

On Wednesday, a deal was reached between British heiress and socialite Ghislaine Maxwell and Virginia Giuffre, the alleged teenage sex slave who claimed she was defamed when Maxwell dismissed the validity of Giuffre’s claims of forced sexual service of wealthy and powerful men.
Giuffre says that she fled the country as a teenager to escape Palm Beach billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, an investment manager who spent a year and a half in prison after pleading guilty to a state charge of soliciting a 14-year-old prostitute in June 2008.
Giuffre claimed in court documents that Maxwell recruited her and more than 30 other victims into a sex-trafficking ring for “politically connected and financially powerful people.” Maxwell and Epstein are close friends and former romantic partners.
Giuffre sued Maxwell last September for allegedly telling the press that her claims have been “shown to be untrue” and are “obvious lies.” Maxwell’s attorney fired back, arguing her “plain vanilla” denials that she brought Epstein a teenage sex slave did not amount to libel.
Giuffre’s attorneys said in a statement Wednesday that they “are happy to have settled this matter without the need for a trial and are pleased with the result.”
The two-page joint stipulation for dismissal, filed in Manhattan federal court, included no details of the settlement.
The deal declared the complaint to be dismissed with prejudice, with each party to bear its own attorney’s fees and costs.

Ghislaine Maxwell claimed in court documents that 25 male associates of Jeffrey Epstein made “secret settlements” to avoid prosecution.
The explosive allegation appeared in a December 17 habeas corpus petition submitted by Maxwell’s attorneys seeking to overturn her criminal conviction. The full petition was published online by Courthouse News Service, a news organization that covers litigation.
