4/4 Evening Update
April continues to carry her great demeanor as you saw with Jordan, Corey, Joel and support staff today while cleaning the giraffe barn. She is big, udders are full, light discharge ----aaaannnnndddd thats it! She looks, and is acting, great!
Another day outside and we expect more time tomorrow!

These updates are turning into a redundant snoozefest...but then again, what can they possibly say at this point?

The name I'd suggest for the calf--guess it'd work for either a male or female--is Kusubiri. Sounds neat, IMO, and is Swahili for "wait."

Quite frankly I think the only name should be Tardee spelled that way for fun !

I have a friend that DAILY has to inform me of all the politically stuff going on, despite me saying I can't do anything about it, so I don't want to hear it. So I've started talking about April every time she starts politics. She doesn't watch April, but told me to call her if she's having the calf... She text me on Friday saying I best keep near a feed because April was going to deliver while I was out of town. I laughed, told her I would believe it when I saw it She insisted that she had seen a post and it would this past weekend. For much of the weekend, I was traveling and didn't have a signal to check in. Visited my Mom, and no signal there either. While I was away, one of my dogs attacked the other, so I got a call that my dachshund was on the way to the vet. So no signal again. Was at the vet a few hours, and was worried about her, so didn't even look for a signal. Got home, my dog was still semi sedated, didn't feel good, wouldn't walk, etc. That was on Saturday! I've checked in many times since being home... no baby!

My doggy finally peed at 4am TODAY! She hadn't peed since Saturday and was going back to the vet for IV fluids since she wouldn't drink water, nor eat. The pain meds were making her feel sick. She's eating small amounts now, and drinking water, so as long as infection stays away, she should heal fine.

So my friend calls this morning, after her usual political talk, I said "No baby yet!", she said "You need to call them, and tell them to get another vet there!" LMAO! As if! I said why would I be the one calling? There's hundred of thousands of people watching, no doubt some vets, zoos, prior caretakers of Aprils, PETA, etc, and they have more knowledge than I do!

Oh would you give your baby a snuggle for me, I hope she continues to feel better.

I am insane , I have no problem seeing injured humans - an animal I turn away. My mother is like that too!!

Her stomach is moving a lot!

Me dear friends

Our treatment team has been monitoring this thread, and it is with much regret that we have concluded that many of you are suffering with visual hallucinations consisting of stomach contractions, giraffe babies kicking momas stomach, and large lady parts .

Prescriptions have been ordered, pls visit your pharmacist in AM and take as ordered.

!!!

She is just a pig!! my jaw and back get sore just watching our big girl!

It's funny about those fb posts, because if you read comments, people go crazy if it's mentioned and insist the media got it all wrong and AAP never said they were close!

Oh pls - the truth would be they have never said she is NOT close!

I just discovered April last night and I am just stunned by how many people are watching her.
The count is 190,000 on youtube..just wow!

Three nights ago , when they said, again. time has arrived it hit like 255K - and there are 325 false you tube entities that are broadcasting!!

Next they will be selling April's milk. I think we need an independent investigation about all this greed. Wait, I think I just got my news watching confused with my April watching.

O/T: I am so glad you lil doggie is recovering. My Chihua-corgi got attacked at the dog park by a chow last year. Luckily the owner grabbed his dog very quickly but mine was bitten on the back of the neck and in shock, poor lil guy.

Even after his wound healed, his anxiety was really bad for awhile. He was even afraid of our German Shepherd that he grew up with and had never hurt him --they were best pals. But my lil guy had PTSD for awhile. So keep an eye on him if he starts panting in stressful situations. Harley did that for quite awhile after he was attacked. And he was afraid of children afterwards because there was a little boy there, with the Chow, which is why he attacked, I think...ok, sorry, long winded, but it all came back to me when I read your post...:sigh:
