It has been stated that male giraffe's are only interested in mating and fighting.

True and she will be in heat immediately after birth.

ETA At least that's the case in livestock.

Glad Allysa got him out of there. Did anyone else see him lunging and slamming his head into her neck and stomach? I saw him do it at least 4 or 5 times in a row.

:gaah: I was AFK.

I will watch today, and if interesting video at a specific time , I will do a "share" of the youtube video link which will capture video at that time. I am rewinding to about 45 minutes ago to see what you guys are talking about.

Cleaning garage today and need a diversion while doing that.

Here is the video queued up to the time that others were talking about before just now.

ETA: Hmmm, didn't work.... brb lemme try that again!

ETA #2: Hmmm, with other youtube videos you can "share" on a certain timeframe.

With this one I cannot seem to do it when I try to get a link to share... don't need to I guess, as if you go back to when this video loop STARTS... and rewind yourself... it is at that time of the start. (see screen shot.. is at very beginning of new video for livestream)

I am  why the video won't do a specific time like other youtubes. Perhaps because it is live?

"“Somehow, she got caught, and like any person would do, she panicked,” Ragsdale said. “We’re examining every enrichment item now to make sure there’s not a chance of this happening again.”

Guy Lichty, who is the zoo’s curator of mammals, said enrichment items go through a rigid approval process before being introduced into the habitats and are safety scrutinized to ensure they present no sharp edges, toxicity potential, swallowing hazards or other possible problems.

So I've missed most of this thread, and I apologize if the joke has been made, but my 8 year old remarked that April's webcam has the wrong sponsor. According to him, instead of Toys R Us, April should be sponsored by Nike. "Just Do It". :D

I love your son's smarts combined with his sense of humor! An Art Linkletter moment!

ETA: Thinking how many of us are old enough to remember Art!

Dear Miss APril,

We apologize for watching you when you are in toilet doing your business!

Frankly I am amazed her output is not 4.5 metric tons per 24 hours!!

Whathappened?

What exactly is JOrdon paying for?

Post pregnancy nutrition is important, so Mazuri is gifting 100s of pounds of food to keep April on her A-Game!

I think all his exclaimation marks are about his bank account

Just trying to see if I am following this. Just how my mind works when I read this post

courtesy of an April fan! (toy)

I thought humm, so I just read that animal toys need to be tested etc etc, and he is sticking a gift toy in there??

Buy your own that you researched yourself or has a vet approval.

Oliver was picking on April earlier and quite aggressively.

Hate to be an alarmist but is anyone else concerned? I read she could have been impregnated on one of three occasions. Using the last chance does anyone know when her expected due date is?

ETA- I'm convinced I would still be PG with my 24 yo if labor had not been induced. Obviously kidding (kind of) [emoji23]

When you say picking was it clear to you guys that it was aggressive?

Did April look scared?

What exactly was he doing? I have seen them do the neck stuff - it looked they were having fun. Was this different?

How long did it go on?

Did staff come in quick

Exactly how do you "break up" giraffes?

Is it possible that they were frockling cause they are bored out of girafee eeee marbles?

What I do not get is it is my assumption that they were together before getting pregnant so it seems (until I heard about this) they are fine together??
