Yea! I didn't miss the baby!

I am going to gush for a moment about how proud I was to sit next to my baby boy among the other parents and children at their honors banquet the college puts on to welcome these high achievers. I am so excited for all of the opportunities he is going to have and even more excited he will take advantage of them. My baby boy drove me insane as a little one (he is the one you will sometimes read stories about because I have soooo many to tell) and it has been absolutely amazing to watch him grow into the solid wonderful man he is today. I sure wish I could keep him little for a while longer.

Here is the book I give each of my children when they leave home. It still makes me cry.

There will be a limited (imagine that!) supply of new items added to the store tonight. I think they said 2 different size plush giraffes and shirts with April; one standing and one of her cuddled up on the floor.

Oh no! Keep me away from the store! The last thing I need (but always want) is more stuffed animals. I have 7 on my desk right now, 5 are a set of baby farm animals wearing Easter sweaters that I got my daughter when she was tiny. Thank goodness my desk is as large as it is!

*looks around to see if she has a place for a standing April* :blushing:

ETA: Your post above really got me thinking. Our kiddos grow up so fast. Where does the time go?

:blushing: It especially touched my heart because I just lost my eldest last Nov. 26th.. sudden death and believe it or not Got a sudden pain in my heart/center chest BEFORE I even knew he had been transferred to ER!!

There really is a direct connection between mom's and their children :anguish:

There absolutely is a connection, LyndyLoo. I'm so sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

Does anyone know how current live stream is? April is pacing, lifting and twisting her neck and head, lifting legs - hind legs extending behind her. I've seen her do the leg-lifting action previously but never saw her lift legs so high. There seems to be a lot of belly activity, as well. :praying: April isn't too uncomfortable as she awaits the birth of her calf.

:tears:Aww, you made me tear up. My youngest son is graduating from UConn next month.Having so many mixed emotions right now, and not sure how I am going to handle empty nest syndrome.

Best wishes to your son.

4/6 Evening Update

First Kiss
Allysa has reported that April has quite an appetite this evening! This is after a few days of picking at grain and hay. We have been told by other parks that mothers will sometimes feast just before the birth. Who knows and here is to hoping! Behavior was very typical at first, but shifted during Allysa's time with her. This is not a bad thing, just adds another piece to our puzzle.
Weather has taken a horrible turn here. Rain and cold...and more rain. Mild flooding is occurring along the rivers, we will prep the ark. Giraffes will remain indoors until conditions are agreeable.
