NY - Giraffe Watch: April, 15, due to give birth at Animal Adventure Park #2

My baby, HemiKrikitMcMittens trances out after breakfast and dinner. Once she finishes eating, she flops in the same place in the hallway twice a day and trances out.
It's hysterical, she is 9 now and never misses a beat. If I talk to her, call her name she twitches her tail and that's all, she only responds to my voice.


She also sleeps with her eyes open. I have 3 different pics at 3 different times she snoozes with eyes open. Freaky.

Sometimes I do wonder. I guess I should ask them why giraffe's necks are so long because I still haven't gotten an answer.

I think it's so they can reach the highest leaves.

Ok, I turned the youtube on at the wrong time and saw Oliver hitting April....I was yelling at the time. :blushing: Didn't realize what I was thinking I was yelling. Hubster came running to see what was wrong. Ummm, just domestic violence..... :blushing:

That's the first thing I saw, too, when I got home and turned on youtube. I kept telling Oliver to stop it and "get away from her!"; and was telling staff to get Oliver away from her. They took too long, IMO. It was scary, and when they'd get one giraffe in the other pen, the other would follow. I was getting ready to call the cops on Oliver! :copcar::cop: - "In the slammer you go, Ollie."

I haven't had a kitty in several years and I think that's going to have to change. Miss them terribly. If anyone needs kitten therapy, we've been watching these babies. Adorable, healthy and today they've turned into a 6 fuzz ball wrecking crew. LOL

Watching April started out quite therapeutic, but I'm with Tillicum and everyone else who's said this is starting to get concerning.

Would April be safer if she were out in the Wild? No debate, just sayin......I enjoy this journey as it truly is one of the few threads here with some happy.

She really wouldn't. One article I read said the life span in the wild is around 15 years.

13-15 months. As to the conception date, they seem 100% clueless. I remember October 2015 being tossed out there at first but that's clearly wrong.

I haven't said anything, but I started getting concerned when I saw that AAP was posting on FB in January that she was close. Someone went farther back to December and they were saying the same thing. I truly don't understand this and it's starting to bother me.

Here at WS we like our numbers as accurate (unlike CNN) as possible . Pls correct to 115%.

I am a Jewish g dad - and either you all did this on purpose to allow for momentum to build or you really don't know - in that case you need to get a second opinion. Not if she is pregnant - but on her status.

She aint no spring chicken-- if they really thought this was supposed to happen a quarter of a year ago they need to find out why it has not.

OT: Hated math. Typing class a very close second!

In the 9th grade Pre Alegbra, I had it with giving a shi#t about the value of "X".

(he was at the door) I stole his answer book. Inserted in a yellow folder.On way out he nicely tapped me on the shoulder, put has hand out and told me to do two things give it back and have a seat.

That was and is the only time in my life I should have figured the value of X = what are the chances you will get caught stealing his book .

Apparently, in this instance, the value of X was high!

My sister that night came in and told me to just tell father all I wanted to do was check my answers!!
