NY - Giraffe Watch: April, 15, due to give birth at Animal Adventure Park

I kind of made that up butt it cannot be all bad with all the hiney sniffing, and I do believe that is how a dogs/cats recognize each other?
Someone please help me here as I don't want to spread false info.

I can confirm that my cats smell each other's butt's quite often. :happydance:

My baby, HemiKrikitMcMittens is the perfect height to her brothers (VertigoKitten) hiney, and she plants her face there more times than not. It's like magnets.

I just noticed Giraffes look very similar to the adorable Sea Horse.

You're right about the Animal Adventure Park being in NY. There was something about the WA in the title that was confusing me also. Where did I get that? :thinking: I'll alert a mod and ask them to change it. Thank you for pointing it out.

April has been staring at the camera for some time now and Oliver is snacking and keeping watch. April and Oliver are my new favourite couple.

I know this is her 4th calf, does anyone know if this is Olivers first and how long they have been together? :heart:

April looks fit as a fiddle. I guess being as tall as April is has it's advantages while pregnant. I bet all the other mums in the zoo are green with envy.

She has spent the majority of her time since at another park in New York but in September of 2015 she was relocated to Animal Adventure, which opened in 2013, located in Harpursville, Ny with approximately 65 species of animals, focused on one-on-one experiences.

So if April has only been at AAP since September '15 and they mated in October '15...she and Oliver really hit it off! And yes, this is Oliver's first I believe.

I think the concern is that he'll get a little too frisky. I remember they addressed this a week or two ago by saying something about how males are only interested in eating, sleeping and breeding and that they play no role in raising the young. If I'm mistaken, someone correct me.
