I don't remember seeing it either. They said they'd have additional cameras during labor/birth so maybe that's a good sign.

This is the video from the Good Morning America visit. According to Jordon when April was not moving and just staring she was having a contraction. So I guess today she has been having a lot of contractions because she has not been moving as much. Of course only April knows!

April is looking like she swallowed a set of patio furniture. She was wearing her hay a few minutes ago and I just wanted to hug her. I hope she's not as miserable as I think she looks. Bless her 25 pound heart, c'mon sweetie. Let's do this. lease::sigh:

She is probably so confused because she kept hearing "Come on April, come on April" and thought that she had to wait until tomorrow to give birth?

It would be fitting to have her birth tomorrow.

3/31 Evening Update
Keeper report - April has zero interest in food. Behavior is extremely off. Signs of contractions continue.
Vet report -
Here are the signs that I'm happy to be seeing: significant changes to her "back end" including vulvar swelling, laxity and a thick, gooey discharge. Mammary development including milk let-down and some occasional dripping. Her behavior has changed drastically from yesterday to today. She is less engaging, hesitant to eat her feed (and treats) and unresponsive to a lot of various stimuli. You will also see her do a few things including standing and staring off into space as well as stretching her neck and back legs. If you watch carefully you will see her abdominal wall tense up during those episodes. You'll also see a lot more squinting and just odd behavior. Also important to note is the amount and size of her fecal output. Everything she is doing is surely pointing to her going into labor soon. - Not much has changed from the morning but I suspect she will go quickly.

It looks like we will have an April Fools baby!
Who could have ever predicted this, unfolding as it has. The perfect ending. April - waited for April!
We will keep you posted should things get interesting this evening. Keepers are onsite overnight and support staff are on stand by.

Ooh, I just got back online and part of me can't believe she is still pregnant and part of me is glad we are all still in this together, waiting because I really, really don't want to miss it. I brashly called it for this afternoon after sensing something in her air that seemed to echo my own experiences but I guess I can't anthropomorphize THIS giraffe as she's keeping us all guessing

PS: can I change my call from afternoon to 'before midnight'...?

ETA: Oh, forget it, she just sat down...what do I know about giraffes?!?
ETA2: Ah, she's up again but unless she like the mum on Monty Python's "The meaning of Life" with a speedy (instant) delivery...This will be an April calf. Fitting somehow.
