If I were her, I'd stand up there next to him while he cried the blues about how sorry he was and how he's such a hypocrite.

Then I'd take the mic, inform the nation that I was taking him for everything he was worth and smash the mic over the top of his head.

I feel so bad for her. She looked absolutely devastated and shell-shocked when she was standing up there next to him. I hope she leaves his sorry (and UGLY) 🤬🤬🤬.

If a girl chooses to have sex for $2000 an hour that does not mean she is trash, or she is stupid, or has no pride or dignity. Sex is what you make of it and obviously for her, in that situation it was a business deal. Maybe it is not a lifestyle you want to live and that is okay but she should be able to make that decision to use her body anyway she pleases. The government should not be able to dictate to us what we can and cannot do with our bodies. Personally I don't see anything wrong with a woman making the decision to use HER body and HER sexuality to make money. I see no issue with the men who patron them either. She is only there because she chooses to be.
This countries priorities are really screwed up. We will readily accept and even encourage violence - you can show someone being beaten to death on TV, or show actual footage of dead people, of executions being performed but you cannot show a woman's exposed breast? A breast or the word penis is more intimidating and threatening than someone being beaten or tortured? Sex is more threatening and offensive than murder? Some would say no, sex is more sacred therefore shouldn't be exploited. Great - that is your decision. Sex is a sacred act for you. For some people sex doesn't always have to be that way. Like I said before some people are comfortable with sex being what they make of it and if they want to exploit it and make money then why should that bother anyone else? There should not be laws dictating why we have sex. It is a violation of our personal freedoms.
In my humble opinion, of course......

Boy - I was just going to type almost these exact words. So all I can say is ditto!

While none of us know her reasons for standing beside him this last week - I have a feeling part of it was due to the fact that he is the father of her daughters- and that she was doing it more for them than him. Just my opinion. I have great regard for her and I think she'll come through this better than he ever will.

Somewhere a giftbasket company is having to discontinue the "Hard" to buy for Guy's Basket: Emporer's Club GiftCard, Trojanenz (XL, of course) and Enzyte.

Great post, Gaia, and I agree with most of it.

I do want to point out that, IMHO, Elliot's getting spanked harder about this than some would because of his hypocrisy. It's not just the sex outside of marriage with a Pro young enough to be his daughter - it's that situation combined with the fact that he prosecuted this type of corruption so ruthlessly.

you don't believe in the sanctity of marriage? Would you want your husband seeing prostitutes?

gaia, do you have a daughter?
Would you be proud of her to make prostitution her career choice?

To me, it's quite a degrading career choice, I don't care what amount of money you would make.

Maybe if the hooker career folds now, she can go on to become an actress... a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 star. That would be great too.

True, but she didn't have to do it. It gives him public support and makes her look like a fool.

I speak from someone who is walking in similar shoes as Mrs Spitzer.. unless you have been there you wont know what you will do.. you can think you will do one thing but its a complicated and heart rending issue that is not as easy as it would seem..even more so when you are caught completely off guard. She is not a fool by doing what she thought is right at that moment at that time.. don tforget there are many there advising her.. there may be much more to her appearance then you know and likely a lot that has to do with her daughters.. it seems to me anyone who can easily throw more stones at someone who is already in the most diffcult time of their lives and hasnt been there is the foolish one...

Its an easily identifiable look to anyone who has been there.. She looked as many of us do when you hear your life together is a lie and that the spouse you admired and honored is everything but worthy of any of it.. nor is someone you seem to know ..its like someone set a tsunami off in your life and your left in the devastation after the water is receding .. its going to take her a while to figure out what she is going to do and what she can live with in her life...she seems like a strong woman who will be just fine after she finds her feet again..

I personally think that I might cut my losses. She would get a substantial settlement, I would think. She is still young enough, attractive enough to find someone else if she so chooses.

She also has a law degree from Harvard, doesn't she?

Yes, she does. Reading her credentials - she is extremely accomplished .. 'in her own right'.

The first lady earned her juris doctor from Harvard Law School and a bachelor's degree, summa 🤬🤬🤬 laude, from Meredith College.

She began her legal career with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, specializing in mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance. Subsequently, she joined The Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. as a member of its international legal group.

Wishing Silda & her daughters all good thoughts for whatever their future may hold. Can't say that I feel magnanimous enough to wish the same for "him".

You said it perfectly opme and I feel so badly for her. I just can't imagine the hurt. I hope you are doing well and I am sorry you have to go through this too.

Ya' know...as a music store proprietor, and since she describes herself as a singer/songwriter, I thought I'd take a listen to her music. Not bad...a little 'underproduced' and the vocals need tweaking, but better than a lot of 'em we've heard lately.
In other words...she's (literally) been 'SITTING' ON A FORTUNE'!

I was very surprised to hear that she didn't want him to resign, even after hearing all of the details. I guess that she doesn't want to give up the power and prestige that comes along with being the governor's wife. I'm not sure, though. I guess that only time will tell if their marriage will survive.

She worked to get her husband to that point...she was a part of the package (the best part, imo). Think about what she's done to support her husband to that point.

I read that when this first hit, she thought it was a one-time thing, so she thought it might blow over.
