That is a completely effed up perspective. Young women go out to have fun, enjoy a meal or a drink, listen to music...etc.

They do not owe any guy sex. They are not trading dinner for sex.

No wonder rape is so prevalent, if people actually think that a young woman out having fun is 'trading sex' for a 'free drink'.

Perhaps you were being facetious, but as the parent of a college junior, I see little humor in this. My daughter is at a state school, and if this does happen, I can assure you that it is rare, and looked down upon!

Ten reasons why I believe Silda Spitzer should divorce her husband:

10. Silda Spitzer is a classy, educated woman who does not need this behavior in her life.

9. Spitzer may have used government money to cover his tracks or transferred money illegally. He could very well go to jail.

8. While A-G and Governor, Spitzer engaged in an illegal activity (prostitution).

7. Spitzer did not engage in a one-time indiscretion with another woman. He sought out many women over several years.

8. Spitzer is (IMO) a deceptive person. Troopers met with Spitzer on a Friday. The next day, Saturday, it was published that despite knowing the charges, he deceived everyone with his "normal" behavior.

If people are going to do that or engage in sport sex what is wrong with making money for it? I guess I don't see every woman as a helpless vicitim to be saved from big bad men. I see women (I am am one) as equals and if she wants to make money having sex, let her. I don't see it as degrading, I see it as a woman taking charge. And not every girl out having a good time at a bar is trading sex for a free drink, but it does happen and you can't just ignore that.

Not as rare as ya might think. And it is not looked down upon by the majority. That's what kids tell their parents to make them feel better. When I was in college I was shocked at what went on. Then I met the young woman who was an escort and thought, well heck you might as well make a decent living out of it instead of just getting a shot of Jager out of the deal.

I, too, think this is rare unless you can give stats to prove otherwise. Take a second look at respected campus women.

I am just so surprised to find so much self rightousness (sp?) here. I thought people were more open minded than that here. There are those who think it is gross and disrespectful that we discuss horrible crimes on a website. Some of my friends have been appalled at the idea. There may be people in your own family or friends that don't approve of you being on websleuths discussing horrible bloody crimes. Not everyone is going to approve of what someone does.

It now appears that Ashley (Kristen) may have made her "Girls Gone Wild" video when she was 17 rather than 18 and that the "producer" knew this. He has pulled the Internet pay-to-view video.

Ashley is a sad comparison to all three of Spitzer's daughters but especially 18 year old Jenna, editor of her h.s. newspaper, who obviously has more class than to engage in such behavior.

I sort of think curious1 is being partially misunderstood. I took the posts to meant that many young men and women will meet in a bar only to go home together that night and are therefore also engaging in risky behavior. If that is not the case, curious1, please correct me. If that is what she meant, I tend to agree that drunken one night stands happen quite frequently on college campuses and in bars. After bartending in NYC, not much of what goes on in bars surprises me. And while that might seem shocking to many of you who don't frequent that scene (like my mom), it absolutely happens on a regular basis. I can't even begin to count how many people we had to throw out of our place for um, getting intimately acquainted in the bathrooms, stock room, kitchen, etc.

I can see that you and I do not see eye to eye on many issues. That's okay, though. I do not think that being against being paid to have sex or one-night stands equates with being narrow minded. We call that having morals in my neck of the woods. I do not discuss crimes for the bloodiness or gore. I discuss crime from the angle of solving it and getting justice for the victim(s). I really don't care to hear about the viciousness of a particular act. You can rationalize your POV by saying that not everyone will approve of what someone does; however, it is not mainstream in our society to get paid for sex. The outer fringes are the ones who do this or the ones who want to make an easy buck.

It appears that Ashley thinks so little of herself and her body that she actually stripped for free for a crowd in association with the Girls Gone Wild organization. Nice girl...If only Spitzer had known that he may have been able to get it for free had he just plied this girl with a few drinks...
