My son is almost 5. If he were out of bed at that time of night, he would be falling asleep standing up! Especially considering that Mom came over at 6 am so it seems likely that Isabella woke up early regularly. I will keep my thoughts to myself except to say that this story doesn't yet make sense!
Grandma knew this 16 yr. old guy was with her grandbaby at midnight? How?
Did they say in the presser what the charges will be for each of the teens? Is it murder, manslaughter, accessory, etc?
Just curious as to whether there was a confession from both or one turned in the other, or if there was damning evidence found with Bella's poor little body.![]()
http://www.wivb.com/dpp/news/crime/girls-family-teen-makes-confessionThough no one has been charged in the crime, family members tell News 4 the teenager being questioned by police confessed. Family members say he admitted killing Bella in the house, and then enlisting the help of a second teen who helped move the body. They add his confession was prompted after realizing the second teen, who is also 16-years-old, had helped police locate the girl's body.
At a news conference Monday, police would only say the neighbor is cooperating with police. They also said they are questioning the second teen.
News 4 is expecting to learn in the next few hours what charges the suspects will face.

The other is suspected of acting as an accomplice, according to a police press conference that was held Monday afternoon.
Please nobody throw rocks because I am by no means defending this 16 y/o BUT..
Maybe it was some sort of tragic accident and the boy freaked out and felt like he had to hide her body. It is so very tragic no matter what but I'm just throwing out that possibility. ???
http://www.nycourts.gov/cji/2-PenalLaw/125/125-25(2).pdfUnder our law, a person is guilty of Murder in the Second Degree when, under circumstances evincing a depraved indifference to human life, he or she recklessly engages in conduct which creates a grave risk of death to another person, and thereby causes the death of that person [or of a third person].3
http://www.nycourts.gov/cji/2-PenalLaw/125/125-25(2).pdfengages in conduct which creates a grave and unjustifiable risk that another person's death will occur,
and when he or she is aware of and consciously disregards that risk,
and when that grave and unjustifiable risk is of such nature and degree that disregard of it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of conduct that a reasonable person would observe in the situation.5
Reckless conduct that results in death, however, is not enough to constitute this crime.
here is the NY def. of murder in the second degree (which was alluded to in the presser)

At a press conference Monday afternoon, police said the boy was, as far as they could tell, "a trusted family friend." The girl was left in his custody when the great grandmother went to bed at about 10:30 p.m.
