OCALA -- A secretary at an Ocala halfway house has been arrested and charged with hiding one of the convicts at the re-entry house in her own home, in the attic.

According to separate criminal complaints, the events charged occurred between March 30 and Monday at 7 Arden Ave. in Arden Heights, the address of Extra Space Storage.

Jeanine Cammarata had been reported missing since March 30.

Michael Cammarata slew his wife and then attempted to “conceal and alter the corpse” to prevent its discovery, said the complaint.

Egea acted in concert with her boyfriend throughout those actions, the complaint alleges.

Prosecutors provided no specific details on the killing during the arraignment.

According to Jasmine Terrone, a longtime friend of Jeanine Cammarata, Egea lived in the same home as the former couple two years ago. While Terrone did not know Egea personally, she said that Jeanine Cammarata, 37, moved out when she met her current boyfriend, Aaron.

She added that Michael Cammarata lived on the first floor of the house when the three lived together.

Terrone said Egea helped care for Jeanine Cammarata’s children while she worked two jobs to support her family.

Jose Perez, Cammarata’s landlord and a fellow teacher, said that Egea was endearingly called “the pie lady” because she brought pies to PS 18 during Cammarata’s tenure at the West Brighton school.

However, a look at Egea’s Facebook page told a different story.

The banner on her page Friday read, “Yeah, I’m a b****, but this b**** has morals and principles and believes in respect.”

Egea also appears to have had a brush with the law 12 years ago in Florida.

According to a report in Ocala.com, she was arrested in June 2007 after a prisoner who escaped from a halfway house in Ocala was found hiding in her attic.

Egea, who worked as a secretary at the facility, told her supervisor the 34-year-old man was not in her home, according to the report.

She was garbed in a teal-colored blouse, black pants with stars running down the side and a black jacket with thin white piping.

On Friday, Judge Raja Rajeswari ordered Michael Cammarata and Egea held without bail on the murder case pending their next court date.

During the arraignment and outside court afterward, Fonte contended Egea had “repeatedly” asked for a lawyer, but police ignored those requests.

“She was not free to leave and was isolated from her family and her attorney. These actions violated a plethora of her constitutional rights,” said Fonte, who accused the NYPD’s Staten Island Homicide Squad of “playing fast and loose, which they are known to do.”

“She’s glad that her isolation is finally over, and she now has the ability to consult with counsel,” said Fonte."

After reading this article, sure as hell, this woman doesn't take orders from anyone, and that

includes Michael.

She would have likely tossed him out of the place if he dared raise his voice to her

Unfortunately, this kind of dynamic is not uncommon in abusive relationships. The murderer is clearly a control freak who didn't want to let her go but treated her like trash. He probably thought she would stay in spare room. She is lucky that she was able to get out when she did. And, like abusive and controlling spouses often do, he was going to make sure that she was never free.

Egea seems morally bankrupt as well. That said, it is not possible for us to have a true picture of the kind of control the murderer had over her. Abusive and controlling people don't change their behavior with new partners--- their behavior may have to morph but it will ultimately be abusive and controlling. We have yet to hear how her 5 children were treated, etc. She has to be an unhinged woman b/c who gets pregnant with a child by a man, deals with him trying to abuse and control the ex, participates in the ex's murder and disposal of her body.

I think we will hear more about odd, crazy, controlling behavior in many aspects of this man's life.
