Body Discovered Amid Search For Missing NYC Teacher

"According to her sister, Christine Ross, Jeanine arrived at her ex-husband’s home at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday but the two children were asleep.

“She said she was tired and asked if she could stay by there for a little bit – which I thought was kind of strange. Her ex-husband and his girlfriend said ‘yeah, it’s ok’ and then, he told me, she ended up leaving at around 12 o’ clock,” Ross explains."

So, here’s a piece of terrifying info for you.

Both parents have equal custodial rights at the outset of divorce proceedings. A parent cannot be charged with kidnapping either, btw. Only after a judge has ordered the parents to abide by a custody / visitation schedule can the non-custodial parent be arrested for violating a court order. Until you get in front of a judge.... nothing can be done. My husband ran off with my daughter for 6 weeks. I could not get the courts to do anything until we appeared before a judge for a hearing. We were not legally divorced yet.... which means equal rights to the child. Very scary.

that is terrible.... CA is similar but if you file for divorce they set a pending visitation schedule.

So she was last seen Saturday night by her boyfriend when she dropped him off (time?) and then she drove from SI to Rockaway afterwards? I wonder if her boyfriend knew she was headed there? Probably not, I'm guessing. I'd think he'd be worried about that. IMO

That's about 45-55 minute drive on a clear-traffic evening. Most of the time, there is very heavy traffic going over VN Bridge and then the Beltway around lower part of Brooklyn. Not impossible, but strange IMO that she would go there voluntarily. Possibly her ex lured her there? I hope the kids were nowhere around when (if) he harmed her. I don't recall reading the ages of the children. Apologies if I missed it.

How are others interpreting the sentence about husband and Jeanine leaving his Far Rockaway home?

It reads as though after she left his Far Rockaway home alive, he snatched and murdered her elsewhere

I think its misworded and they mean he was seen leaving w a large bag afer she showed up at his house. his house provides the cover to kill her.

Not defending him, but outright murder may not have been his aim. He may have beaten and strangled her in a blind rage without meaning to actually kill her.

ETA: Then he had a dead body on his hands and didn't know WTF to do.

after he prob lured her to his house?

The kids are 3 and 7. She also has an 11 y/o with a different father.

There was no formal visitation agreement in place. They worked it out amongst themselves, but he had not let her see the kids for 2 months prior to her disappearance.

thanks! I caught up. this goes beyond typical custody this was an abuse/control sitch :(

This guy's a monster!

It sounds to me as if he used her kids against her, I highly doubt she would go to his house, it sounds like she was so afraid of him. But if he's been with holding her children from her, and then offers an olive branch, 'just come on over and you can see them here', of course she went. Ugh. Of course she did.

I'm going with the idea that he's been terrorizing his own GF too - because that is literally the only thing I can come up with to explain her being around while her BF is stalking his wife, let alone potentially helping him murder her.

if she is not a monster herself, its still in the "honeymoon phase" and hes lying, manipulating and gaslighting her about his "crazy ex" who is an "unfit mom".

I'm of the opinion gf is the one seen on video helping him move the body. I suspect she's going down with him.

Where in the world do you burn a body in NYC?

I don't know. But reports are that he left the apartment, along with someone else, carrying the bag the remains were found in. That was on Saturday night. They didn't move the body into the storage place until Sunday night. So, 24 hours of time to do whatever they did to her, but I don't know where they did it.
