The arrest of spouse Michael Cammarata (right) came one day after he was identified as the “prime suspect” in the disappearance of his 37-year-old wife. Busted along with him was his girlfriend Kangi-Ayisha Egea (left) on the same charge of murder.

Wonder why the gf would tell LE about the storage unit but not info about where Jeanine's car is located? At this point, why protect that info?

Third person involved? Maybe Egea stayed with the kids and someone else helped dump the car? Just throwing that out there.

Maybe, just maybe...she will use the "he killed her, I didn't know he was going to kill her and, then, I thought he would kill me" as a way of getting out of the murder charge but she realizes that she could not have been too afraid if she drove behind him and helped him rather than going to a precinct and reporting his murder as he was not in the same car. I think she is saying all of what he did and none of what she herself did. She got away with harboring the fugitive.... I guess she is just calculating things in this case.

True. Another thing is that we haven't entertained the idea that Egea is the one who committed the actual murder.

NYPD: Estranged husband, girlfriend charged with murder in missing teacher Jeanine Cammarata’s case

Oh, Lord.

"After police opened the unit, they found a plastic storage bin covered with a lid, the source said. When officers opened the bin, they found a bag containing what appeared to be the charred remains of a woman, the source added.

The bin did not appear large enough to hold an entire body, the source said, but the remains were not touched in order to not contaminate the evidence."
Oh no. Please, no.

Maybe the rest of the body is in the car? The bin was not large enough to hold an entire human being, so where is the rest of the remains?

Yes, I'm starting to think something like that too. As if killing an ex isn't bad enough, this is horrible.

Yes, it sounds like he was going to make sure she would never be able to show up for a court date. So stupid.

Hope he and his girlfriend like prison, more than he would like sharing custody of their kids. Is it really possible that they thought they wouldn’t get caught, and wouldn’t be going to prison?

MC was smart enough to lawyer up. Maybe he didn't know Egea was going to sing like a bird and lead PD to the body.

Looks as if he had found a more compatible partner. Too bad it wasn't years ago:

Secretary charged with aiding escape at halfway house

OCALA -- A secretary at an Ocala halfway house has been arrested and charged with hiding one of the convicts at the re-entry house in her own home, in the attic.

<snip>

In his report, Cpl. Diesso said he made contact with Egea, and told her that he was looking for Jackson. At the front door, Egea refused to let the officer search her home.
Diesso then told Egea that he was going to call Johnson. Egea told the officer that once Johnson arrived, she would allow her supervisor to search the home.

Wow-she really is a criminal; this isn’t a one-off, where MC led her astray

Yep. And, on the other hand, Jeanine was a nice school teacher, hard-working with a second job at the dollar store, was loved by her friends who looked out for her. :(

I so hope this isn’t the case! Jeanine was tiny, 4’10” so maybe it’s not impossible...

MAY have given her motive to participate in any number of ways

Despicable!

The girlfriend's FB. The same name is listed twice when searched. Probably is the same person.
