This is a stretch, buuut...
I've read some FB posts by Jennifer and her husband, referencing the BDSM/kink lifestyle.
I've also heard of women entering "the scene," married and with children, and then leaving their families, without a trace. The posts struck me, as I have a sister who did just that (minus the "without a trace" part) over a decade ago. I've since learned that it is a very strong pull, as "the scene" itself is somewhat of an underground community made up of an entire subculture almost, of people who feel judged if they follow their true identities by leaving their "vanilla" lifestyles.

I know...far-fetched. Just my two cents. :)
Can you still see these posts? Or are they gone?

Were these posts on both JR and GR's FB's?

Ah, I see I didn't explain my thought well, to which the above was a relpy.... First, I agree with TripleA, but, what I should have said is when a gal who has never changed her hair color, and is married, and then changes it without prompting from her husband to change it, then something is up. Okay, I admit, I'm only speaking from my own experience, and don't know the specifics of Jennifer's case - if she has changed color before, or if hubby wanted her to, etc..

Do women change their haircolor because their husband wants them to?

I would agree with you - if she never changed her haircolor before and suddenly changed it and disappeared two weeks later it says something about her state of mind - could be a guy on the side - could just be dissatisfaction with the way things are now. Doesn't explain where she is though.

I'm sorry. Actually they weren't posts. They were comments each of them had written to the other about pictures that they each posted. I don't recall if the pictures with those comments are on the husband or the wife's page.

If Jennifer did, or does have some involvement with this kind of lifestyle, a possible connection isn't far fetched at all, IMO. Why would it be?
It seems as if LE may be not be too far from releasing something, per this latest report about waiting on forensics. I hope we get some information soon and I hope its positive. What happened to you Jennifer?

I live in this woman's general area. Very sad case, indeed.
A woman not far from her became missing last summer, and there was little news on her as well. She still hasn't been found.
As for dying her hair, whether or married or not, many women just do it on a whim, and it means nothing other than "I want a change." Sure can't know in this case. At least not yet.
I hope and pray this has a good outcome, but the more time passes...

I agree with you about the hair. First of all, I think that dyeing or highlighting/low lighting hair is something that many women see as a small change that can make a major difference in their appearance without a huge commitment...certainly much easier than getting a major cut (as you don't have to wait as long for it to grow out) or style (typically doesn't require major investment in new styling tools or products that might cost a lot but might soon outlast their utility). Second, maybe she has recently started to see grey hairs and is trying on different colors to cover it up.:seeya:

I wonder what change was wanted in this case...

Just for discussion sake, as I respect what you said. I do think that going from blonde to brunette seems like something major... and if a gal has been blonde all her life and then does this out-of-the blue, and then goes missing.... something to think about, no?

If she was a natural brunette perhaps she was just tired of the time and expense it takes to keep her hair blond. Several women I work with did the same thing ( darker hair color, closer to natural) recently.

Following the laws of parsimony, it could mean that she just simply wanted to change her hair color. It could mean something more, as has been alluded to. I would think though, that if she dyed her hair to go incognito, she wouldn't have left any evidence behind or perhaps she would have done it in a sleazy gas station bathroom on her way to wherever. Lord knows there are plenty of them around. Sloppy work, if she intended to leave on purpose, in my opinion. I do hope she intended to leave on purpose.

That said, women don't need a reason to change our hair color. Oftentimes, we just do it for "a change."

Married young, doting mom to three kids, apparently doting wife as well, seems to live in her husband's shadow with her identity being that of a good wife/mother/friend/housekeeper, a pro-knitter, former runner/athlete who's recently packed on a lot of weight and can't keep up with her husband, who's obviously quite into himself physically...

In her Facebook pictures, I don't see *her* so much as I see her as an extension of him and their children. Rather, I see *him* seeing her (and their children) as an extension of himself.

I see sadness in her eyes. I see a somewhat forced smile. Does anyone else?

I guess, I do see what you mean, although I feel like to a lot of women it wouldn't seem like a major change because compared to other things you could do to change up your look, hair color is pretty temporary...know what I mean? I wouldn't do it myself, because I don't typically do anything to my hair besides get it trimmed, then wash and comb it lol. But I do see it in women's mags as a simple update to your look if you think it is stale or you just feel like it is time for something new, hehe. I dunno...I love my dark hair lol.

I've only seen one comment (referencing the bolded above) made by GR. Have you found other comments as well?. See post below where this was discussed a few pages back on this thread.

To be honest this is not proof of them leading this actual lifestyle....It well could just be playful banter. I have been known to comment while in verbal play and it really means nothing. Just my opinion though.

Yes, it does sound like playful banter. I'm re-reading the posts of her pics right now. There are several that imply kink to me, in addition to the one you posted above, but that's just my interpretation/slant on things. It could also be playful banter in a "between you and me" kind of way, since those living the lifestyle would typically be discreet.

It's all just theory at this point.

I've read some very interesting posts since joining today.

I know the area from where Jennifer became missing very well, and also the areas she would have traveled through if she were going to Syracuse. It is so very rural. Her town has no cell service (at least on my phone), and if she drove the reported route toward the mall, service would have been spotty at best. In Norwich, where her car was found there would be service. Plymouth is quite close to Norwich. Apparently, her phone was found in Plymouth. Part of Plymouth is just on the border of Norwich, and she would have had cell service there. I used to live quite close to where her phone was found.

Seems odd that two women within 25 rural miles from each other would become missing without a trace within six months of one another.

Sorry Jillian, I am stupid, who's the other missing woman?

Sorry Jillian, I am stupid, who's the other missing woman?

So glad you asked, because last I had heard (read), the case went cold.
So, I just looked it up and the other woman was found safe and sound. Her safe return wasn't reported in the newspaper, as far as I can tell...just on a radio station's website.

I hope Jennifer returns as equally safe and sound.

(other woman's name was Patricia "Annie" Hubbard, from Oneonta, NY).

Her facebook history shows she was in AZ for 10 years. Any chance that she could have left for there?

Re: the BDSM/kink lifestyle..., i'm leaning towards "playful banter".

Re: Hair color. If Jennifer only highlighted her hair a shade or two, no biggie here at all, IMO. BUT, if she went a whole different shade, like from the pics we see- to a dark brown/black? It would matter alot, imo.

I wonder what these forensic results are, LE is waiting for.

Bit OT, but wonder how many women are really into the "lifestyle" versus simply doing so, going along with it to please their dopey husbands...
