I have a question about Find A Phone!
Can LE use it to find her phone? And why didnt they have hubby do that at the time she was reported missing why wait so long?

There is also an app out there that shows ya where everyone on you contacts list is located by their phone.

Yes, they can use the app to find her phone, but I'm pretty sure they would have had to use the husband's phone to do so.

Doesn't sound like the police had him use this tracking app. It sounds like he made that decision independently...perhaps when the time and circumstances were right.

She could have disabled it yes- you just turn it off on the phone. That said, it's an individual app- he wouldn't necessarily have had access to her 'find my iPhone' unless he had her login- to access the location you have to visit a website and log into your own account. There are other apps that allow you to see the location of your friends/family but this is not one of them- it's intended as a security device, so if your phone is stolen or lost you can find it. I imagine it's proved handy more than once in these sorts of cases though!

LE could use it - if her husband had her login details he would've been able to tell them. If he didn't I'm sure they could get into it but it might've taken more time. So id say it's possible that he was trying to guess her password and only managed to do it at 8pm that following day. However- the phone has to be on. So if he couldn't use that app it would've I think been quicker to have LE ping the phone and track the location. Does that make sense?

Mostly makes sense, yes. But since they had three children, at least one of which, given her age, probably had a cell phone too, I would think they had a shared account. That way the parents would be able to locate all of the devices using the same account. Hmmmm...

Yes, I'm local.
I was out of town that day, about 100 miles away. No snow where I was, but there could have been closer to home.

I just called the local sheriff's department and spoke to a sergeant there, letting him know that there are people in our area who want to form a search party for JR. He said that he would "discourage that at the moment because there are ongoing operations with that. We don't want anyone involved in a search that could disturb our areas, not at this point in time." When I asked if they're doing searches or have done them, he said, "We have planned and ongoing operations and plans for searches and K-9s in the area. I can tell you that we're doing everything possible to find Jennifer." He also said "Thanks so much for calling first, before you guys went out, because it's important not to do that, especially not today or this coming week."

JR's mother's posted on her FB page that she's coming to NY "this weekend" (she lives in AZ). She posted this on Thursday. Perhaps something will be revealed soon? Also heard a rumor that JR was found, but there is nothing I can find to substantiate that claim. And what the sergeant told me this morning doesn't jive with that rumor, unless something was discovered today. As an aside, and I don't meant to sound all judge-ey, but why if your child is missing, would you wait so long (26 days) to come? There could be a myriad of reasons: job issues, perhaps there are financial issues that make the trip cost prohibitive, perhaps it's believed she left willingly, but still....

Although I don't think Jennifer is with us anymore, I so hope I've very wrong about that.
