Hey everyone. I've been lurking and reading, but haven't said much. I had to hop on and ask, though..... was the Missing fb page taken down??? Not the Help Find Her page, but the other one. It's not coming up when I search. Where did it go???

Lots of curious circumstances in this case, to say the least. I'm on the fence between two main theories of what could have happened - one being that she took off on her own, and I'm sure you can all guess the second one.

Wait, never mind. I found it via the Public Posts on fb. I swear, though, it isn't coming up when I search her name. Maybe facebook is just being wacky.

I've just realized that there are two Plank Road Manor apartments in Norwich. JR's car was found at the Plank Road Manor in Plymouth Street Norwich which is approx. 5.5 miles further along Highway 23 from where the phone was found. You would pass these apartments if you were on State Highway 23 so I can understand how JR's father could have spotted the car outside the apartments if he was searching for her along this route.

Thanks for posting these maps! The way I read this is that her phone was actually found further away then her car was. Taking the route from her home in New Berlin, one would take Route 8 south to South New Berlin, then 23 west through Norwich, and then hook up with 80N up to Syracuse. That's typically the way we locals go. And that mall is also typically where we locals go for real shopping.

Her car was found just outside the city of Norwich, on Plymouth Street, which is also Route 23. It's an odd place to park it, given that there are many other very large lots in very close proximity. That said, the odds of security cameras being in the larger lots are higher (Walmart, Home Depot, some large grocery stores, etc.), as the Plank Rd. Manor Apts. aren't likely to have any. It's a sketchy complex. And her phone was found further up on the same road (closer to the mall), a day and a half later.

It's been cold and rainy all day today. I pray for a break in this case.

This case has all the hallmarks of a domestic violence event, IMO. If i turn out to be wrong, I shall apologize heartily.

One of the handiest aspects of the app is the ability to make the phone make a sound (I use it in my own home fairly regularly to discover my phone under a pile of laundry, in an odd corner or inside the couch!)...

Looks like *someone's* got some laundry to do!

I do agree about the phone likely not surviving being thrown from a car - it was something that bothered me instantly. At first I wondered whether it was snowy up there, because if it landed in snow it might've fared better, momentarily (until it got wet!).

The one thing I am almost certain of is that the phone would no longer have been switched on by the time it was found. Either damp, damage from the drop, or simply loss of battery life. Even if it was fully charged when she left the house, and she lost it shortly after, I'm not sure that by 8pm the following day it would still have had charge.

I researched the find my iphone app quite a lot a few days ago, and discovered that while it will not update a location if it is switched off or out of battery, it will show the last location the phone was recorded to be at. So it is definitely possible that despite the phone being broken or out of battery it could still have been traced to this location, as long as that's where it was when it died.

One of the handiest aspects of the app is the ability to make the phone make a sound (I use it in my own home fairly regularly to discover my phone under a pile of laundry, in an odd corner or inside the couch!) and this function would NOT have worked if the phone was not powered on.

By all accounts the app can be extremely accurate (<10 feet from recorded location), particularly outdoors. However, I am slightly iffy on whether even with an accurate GPS reading, something as small as an iphone could be located on the side of a road, in the dark, after more than 24 hours.

I've read some reports of the iPhone battery life being 8 hours while continuously surfing/browsing. Anyone with an iPhone know if that's accurate? Might depend on which version of the iPhone she had? Since there was no snow here on the day she was missing, it's feasible the phone could survive if it landed in the woods, and not on the pavement. It's also feasible that it could have survived if it was in a protective case.

Just a thought - I always buy an OtterBox case for my phone....it's much cheaper than replacing a cracked screen and they are pretty indestructible!

As an example, I left my phone on my back bumper and drove off. The phone fell in the middle of a VERY busy street and sat there for at least an hour. Other than a little road dirt, no damage - gotta' love an OtterBox :)

So maybe Jennifer had a great case on her phone...??

Don't get me wrong - I'm still very skeptical about the whole "finding the phone" thing.

MOO and all that....

The case...yes. I need to read all of the most recent posts before I post something! See my above post about my "aha! moment" with the case. :)

I have to wonder if besides changing her hair color, which is very common for women, if the changes in Jennifer's weight are what is being referred to in regards to appearance changing. I noticed on the missing page for Jennifer and her own facebook page that there are pictures of her heavier and thinner and she does look different at different weights. However I don't see that as Jennifer purposefully attempting to change her appearance. I know on a message board she had written that she has some medical conditions and I know one was a thyroid condition (graves disease maybe). With a thyroid condition I'm sure her weight fluctuated a lot. Also since her husband is so into fitness I'm sure she was always trying to lose weight. I do not however believe she was purposely changing her appearance before she went missing in order to be be recognized after she disappeared.

The psychic (KF) said that Jennifer had lost a lot of weight. Most current pic is of her wearing a colorful knitted had and scarf.

Re:Facebook pgs: I'm not feeling good about the 2 different Jennifer Ramsaran pages on FB. Obviously, one is adverse with the other.

I think that the people who created both pages means well, but there's an obvious conflict and I hate to see all this adversity, from people who should be working for the same goal. I don't mean to criticize, but lets keep our eye on what's important, which is finding Jennifer and what happened to her.
I'm so worried for Jennifer, and someone's busy blocking me from the one page, because I hit "like" on the other? C'mon...there's a woman's life at stake here.

I created the page because any attempts I made at "helping" (ie. search party) or questions I asked, caused me to be deleted from the page. They were not offensive questions at all. The only acceptable posts which wouldn't cause one to be able to comment further on that page, are those that involve prayer, good wishes, verbal support, and hope for GR.

The second page allows for exploration of thoughts, posting of pertinent information, varying opinions, and support of ideas that differ from what GR is probably dictating FB Page #1 to state, IMO.

Since I'm signed on, I'll give my two cents. I don't have anything new to say, but just want to echo you all's frustration. For the life of me, I cannot understand all the silence in some of these cases. They put *just enough* out there for people to know that JR is missing, but not enough to give anyone any real clue as to what is going on. The apparent lack of missing posters, the lack of people shouting from the rooftops that this woman needs to be found, the quietness of the police, the discouragement of people forming search parties. Where's the urgency? Is this because everyone close to her suspects she took off on her own? Or because everyone suspects a certain individual, and they're hoping the truth will eventually come out? Or what?? So weird.

I think I said something earlier in this thread about the Ivy Merck case, because in some small way, this reminds me of that. The silence, the deleting of posts on facebook, the fishiness of the whole thing - all of which causes so much curiousity and speculation. With Ivy, she took off on her own, out of the blue, for who knows what reason (seriously, I'll be forever irritated about that whole thing, grrrrrrrr).

If they think she took off on her own, why not say so? If they think she's in danger, why isn't there an extreme urgency to locate her? If they think she's deceased, why not work 24/7 to find her asap, and why not talk to everyone in town to find potential information?

SOO frustrating.

I saw this somewhere else recently, in a missing person's case, and I can't remember which one it was! The Ivy case, certainly. But more recent than that. Something where tons of comments were being deleted and people were being blocked from the page, when they said nothing in any way critical or controversial or offensive. Just helpful questions, like you're describing. Was it the Jake and Ryan case? (the two kids that were found in the river). Anyone have any idea to what I'm referring??

Jilllian, please don't get me wrong. I actually credit you for making that page. I do.
I've been ignored, deleted and blocked by this family, as well. I get your frustration.
And honestly, I have a feeling that Jennifer would thank you for taking a stand for her!
It took this family 3 weeks to make a page,... and that's a long time.
I don't oppose your FB page, I really don't. I just think the adversity is pathetic, sad, and not in Jennifer's best interest. But, i'm really not faulting you.
You're not the one slamming the door on comments, ideas and trying to find resolve.

Thanks for writing this. I didn't know you had such a similar experience with the family. I don't even pretend to understand that.

In any event, I want you to know that I got the gist of what you were saying about the two FB pages working together. That would be nice, and I would welcome it on every level. What could possibly be lost by doing so, right? I've never deleted anyone on my page. It's not garnishing much attention at all, and quite frankly, I'd rather people come here and join us...

Yes. The original Help Find Jake & Ray page got so out of hand, posts were deleted or hidden, people were blocked. It was nuts.

Sooo true. I live nearby, and would have heard NOTHING if it weren't for WS. I shop occasionally at "Destiny USA" (hard to get used to the new name, used to be Carousel Mall which I greatly prefer) and have seen no signs, etc. Terrible.

A guy in the UK? Does Jennifer have a passport?

I still don't think she would leave her babies. Not in the slightest. B

  • #620
Hold on, so if it's of belief that GR thinks she's missing on her own accord, then why is not a plea for her to come home? It's more of, if you see her notify LE. And if we are going with a potential guy in the UK, what good would that do?

The UK is not even close to NY.

Sort of feels like a blame game to me.
