I know Jennifer's family will find this first thanksgiving without her very hard, but I hope they still have a nice time today, especially her children.

I'm wishing a good day to all Jennifer's supporters here too.

As we don't 'do' Thanksgiving here in Europe (why not?) I've been reading up. Here's a history of Thanksgiving Day food since the 1600s and it's fascinating - there's even a veggie menu for me, too.

Is that new? It's unfathomable why someone would offer a reward while someone is awaiting trial for Jennifer's murder..... unless it is someone hoping for new information? If it's some sort of attempt at media manipulation, I don't think it will work.

There are some rules about reward payments - I looked them up for Bob. There is something about implicit contracts or something. Once someone has offered info that proves to be correct, the offer cannot be withdrawn, I think. I think it may well be possible that someone could offer up GR's name now, and payment would have to be made if he's found guilty. I'll try and find the documents.

I came across this 1992 news article today. It was eerie. I can't find a single bit more info about this lady who disappeared in her van on a christmas shopping trip, either. It's driving me crazy. I hope she was found safe.

This is really upsetting - the FB page for Jennifer seems to have gone private now, so non-facebookers can't view.

This is such a terrible, terrible case.

There have been attacks upon the victim
Attacks upon supporters and those seeking justice for her
And now attacks upon her community and the American justice system

It's just nasty.

Reasons why I think GR may have been arrested:

His wife had made an appointment with a divorce attorney
He was having an affair with his wife's best friend
He told his own friends he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her
He reported his wife missing too early, showed over-concern that conflicted with;
Failure to speak to the media at all, for weeks
Failure to organize any searches for his wife
His anger and insults towards people who were searching for her
Remarks about his wife designed to show her in a bad light
Allowing misinformation that confused the search to go uncorrected
His treatment of his wife's family
His treatment of his wife's treasured possessions
He found his wife's phone and handled it, knowing it was vital evidence
He was not working on his computer when he said he was
His unnatural behaviour at the YMCA that caused staff to notice it
His smiling face at a vigil held for his missing wife

Maybe other people can contribute reasons why they believe GR was arrested, given that there now appears to be a 'movement' to 'prove' it was due to one thing, and one thing alone?

'Be aware that your reward offer can become a legally enforceable contract....sloppy language can result in serious legal problems'

http://www.raindrop.org/hishands/chap6.shtml

It's a contract. Once a person has performed or partially performed the action requested, the offer cannot be revoked......even when it can be revoked, it must be done in the same manner in which it was made - eg, ad in the paper. As the ad specifically states the reward is payable to anyone providing information leading to a conviction.

http://law.jrank.org/pages/9869/Reward.html

I think anyone who has already made contact and offered GR as the culprit, will be entitled to the reward if he is found guilty. Even if they have only offered the info I've listed above that's already inthe public domain. People are always supposed to consult an attorney before offering a reward and I don't think that has been done in this case.

Hopefully, they'll have the sense to withdraw the offer and donate the cash to Jennifer and GR's children instead - I'm sure not a single soul would object, if that were to happen.

The J4J page isn't private, I can see it, albeit logged into FB.

So glad you dropped in, Wolf Dreamer! I was getting a bit overwrought there, on my own.

I can't find the link to Joe's article though, and I am sorely in need of rescue!

Oh no, he's trying to sell the children's inheritance to pay for his flipping law bills! What an absolute.....the house is up for sale, $240,000.

Oh, I hope no-one buys that house before the trial....pleeeaaase.

You're not alone zwiebel! Still popping in here to check. (Been busy following the Supreme Court trial of an Aussie guy who murdered his fiancee by 'unloading' her from a 15th floor balcony ... GUILTY thank goodness!)

GR's defense attorney sounds as though he is a little perturbed by the 'private defense' that is being carried on by GR's few supporters. They are not doing GR any favours in the Court's eyes, that's for sure. Just making Ackerman's job harder!

Speaking of the 'racial slurs' ... “That’s news to me,” said Ackerman, a veteran criminal defense lawyer from Albany.

Speaking of Jennifer being 'held against her will by two unknown men' .... "Ackerman said the only such report came to him via what he called an untraceable, anonymous phone call. He said he didn’t pass it along to police because his client had already been indicted"

Also ... "Ackerman said he has received an inventory of some of the evidence that the district attorney’s office has in the case, including a report indicating that a small quantity of Jennifer Ramsaran’s blood was found in a downstairs area of the house."

Wait till he finds out about the classified ad offering a reward for info leading to the arrest of Jen's murderer!

GR's supporters have no idea what evidence has been presented, and just don't get that they are mocking the police, Grand Jury, and Court with their foolish manoeuvres - and not helping Ackerman (or GR) at all! :notgood:

I've been following the case of that tiny ballerina, quietly, SouthAussie. I couldn't get that picture of him dragging her in front of the CCtv cameras out of my head....and then the not guilty plea, and the almost identical girlfriend......

I don't know if I'm missing something, but if GR's own defence attorney gave so little weight to the 'tip' about Jennifer being held prisoner by two unknown men in her vehicle, he didn't bother to pass it on to Police.....Mmmmm.

Maybe he thought it didn't have much credibility?

Also, how come tips are going direct to GR's attorney anyhow, and then getting leaked to his supporters?
