We have tightened the restriction on the j4j site to keep young, curious minds off the page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and we will do our best to answer you. Sorry for any inconvenience tis May be causing

I completely understand. My only question would be 'tell me everything'.

As that's not allowable or even reasonable, do you have any impression of the effect the petition has had locally? Has it caused a lot of upset, or is the reaction (in your opinion) more along the lines of momrids6's quite frankly hilarious response below?

*(Thanks for putting it in perspective, momrids6 - I was reeling a bit from the shock of seeing that petition.)

4% of the country think the US is run by shape shifting reptiles... :floorlaugh:

As reptiles have been mentioned, there's a bright green reptilian looking creature here (about three pics down). I was just reminded of them earlier, on another thread.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2251430/The-end-world-Armageddons-delayed-notice.html

I actually lived near these guys in France, while they were still waiting for the year of the end of the world to arrive, and it freaked me out a little. I wondered what it might lead to......

My French neighbours shrugged, smiled and told me to have a glass of wine and forget it. It would all be resolved soon: 'ca sera bientot resolu'.

That article's from 2012, so I guess they were right. I am going to try and keep those eloquent French words in mind for the duration of GR's trial too.

Oh no, he's trying to sell the children's inheritance to pay for his flipping law bills! What an absolute.....the house is up for sale, $240,000.

Oh, I hope no-one buys that house before the trial....pleeeaaase.

Do we know for sure he's the one selling it? Never sure what the rules are... seems rank he should be allowed to whilst he's charged with murder.

I imagine it would be pretty easy to scupper the sale should one want to...

If US laws are anything like our laws, Gerard Baden Clay sold a house owned by himself, the wife he murdered, and two of her relatives, while he has been sitting in jail waiting for his murder trial. As he was primary principal of their company (not to mention that his wife was deceased, so he also removed her as a company member), he was able to sell it without anyone's permission. I imagine his lawyer carried the necessary paperwork for the transactions (to remove his deceased wife from the company, and to sell the house) in and out of the jail.

Allison Baden Clay's father then went to court (successfully) to stop him selling any more assets belonging to the family/children.

It still amazes me that GR owned that house, after coming back from Az with a string of financial judgements behind him. Maybe he had some very kind in-laws that helped them buy the place, for a very reduced price, when they bought their neighbouring property.

I was just wondering/guessing maybe he doesn't have much equity in this house? Also has payments been kept up since he has been in jail? Selling might be to just get the bank paid?

The Ramsaran Family Trust owns the property. Would love to see the docs on that!

i thought that there was no mortgage on the house.

also, the new reward ad in the evening sun was taken out by GR's uncle in FL.

I would think GR's Uncle from Florida won't be "out" any reward money... Since the perp is already behind bars...:jail:

(The only money he will have to sacrifice is for the ad itself...)

this states the house was sold on 7/19/13, and Zillow agrees- but in jun 2013.

http://www.realtytrac.com/property/ny/new-berlin/13843/449-sheff-rd/168750077

Up for sale currently according to this:

http://www.realtor.com/realestatean...ew-Berlin_NY_13843_M39663-07972?source=images

Are we sure they're the same house, the sold one says 4 bed 1 bath, the for sale says 6 bed 4 bath - huge difference. The price is also $40k different.

The land size's quoted are the same size.

I notice in the first listing by realtytrac.com that a quit claim deed was granted about a month before the sale (click on History tab, then look at Other Documents).

From what I've read, a quit claim deed is usually used to transfer property between family members (as a quit claim deed offers no warranty as to the status of the property).

Quitclaim deed - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So, possibly used to give the property solely to GR from the ownership of GR and Jen's Family Trust? Or used by GR to transfer the property to another family member so they could sell the property?

Tax records are from before they remodeled- and they match the 4-1, the address, etc. They never notifed the tax office of the upgrades.

This seems like a really good price for a house that large with that much land, but of course I don't know the local market.
Is there a mortgage on the house?
Does state law mandate disclosure about a crime being committed in the house?
Here we would have to disclose if someone was on trial for murder and the prosecutors were saying the crime happened in the home.
As far as Zillow records vs Realtor.com. I would trust Realtor.com any day over Zillow. Google it, Zillow is very often inaccurate. Its a pet peeve of mine.

The market value is 199, 400- which is what it sold for back in June/July- making me beleive it was a quit claim or family transfer. It is now back on the market.

§443-a. Disclosure obligations

1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, it is not a material defect
or fact relating to property offered for sale or lease, including residential
property regardless of the number of units contained therein, that:

(b) the property is, or is suspected to have been, the site of a homicide,
suicide or other death by accidental or natural causes, or any crime
punishable as a felony.

NY Licensing Lawbook (January 2013)

It looks as though they don't have to disclose any kind of death that may have occurred in a house that is for sale in NY. The buyer may submit a written request for this kind of info, and the seller may respond, but seller doesn’t have to respond.

According to the Chenango County District Attorney’s office, he is to appear in Chenango County Court on either May 5 or May 12, 2014 for the first Huntley hearings. When asked why the next court date was being adjourned until May of next year, District Attorney Joseph McBride said, “The defense requested to adjourn the trial. I am ready to go right now. The defense is making a motion to suppress statements made by the defendant and a motion to suppress physical evidence taken from the defendant.”
