Just popping in to see what's happening. Sounds like GR is not getting his own way. One of the jobs of a lawyer is to sometimes shake your client up to the realities of a situation which they may not appreciate. Just because they are your lawyer does not mean they say yes sir no sir!

I heard GR say how badly he has been being treated, I'm not sure if he meant by attorneys or at the jail.

I hope I did this correctly and it helps answer any questions

Thanks for this, upstate...

and he probably means by life.

'In an affidavit submitted to the court by Ackerman, he described a problem with finances involving Sam Ramsaram, Remy's father'.

'Sam Ramsaran informed the defence on Jan 26th...that his loan for attorney and expert fees was having trouble and may not come through.'

' "I would like to see him (his attorney) gone," Ramsaran said.'

' "It's an absolute travesty the Chenango DA can say such things to media," Ramsaram said. A visibly upset Ramsaram was immediately quieted by his attorney..'

GR's proving to be his own worst enemy in court, as I thought he might. I am personally hoping he gets the best defence possible. If he is convicted, I don't want a single question left around about whether his defence was adequate, or whether the charges are all just some great conspiracy by authorities to bring an innocent man down.

What I wouldn't give for live coverage or even tweets from the courtroom when GR finally stands trial.

"I would like to see him gone."

This is what Remy Ramsaram thought it was a good idea to say about his own attorney. In a court of law.

I see incarceration has not dampened his malignant narcissism one iota.... good. :)

BBM

From what I understood, it sounded like GR had a disagreement with Ackerman and it was GR that initiated the release of his attorneys. It sounded like that was the last straw for his attorneys (mainly Ackerman) Chamberlain was still there helping GR in court yesterday. I did hear several times it was the unpaid fees that were standing in the way of having a smooth transaction (para phrasing most of this - very quick hearing and very quiet with whispering involved)

Ackerman wasn't present, Chamberlain was. GR began complaining about Ackerman' s health issues and not being able to see him for over 5 months. He continued, "It is utterly disgusting for it to have taken over a year and still not have the discovery." This is when Chamberlain interrupted and whispered into GR's ear. Chamberlain continued on GR's behalf and said, "The DA is ready with the discovery" ADA Stephen Dunshee added, Yes the DA is ready with the discovery"

The judge basically explained, GR needs to fill out an application to consent to the release of his attorneys. He continued to say GR had 30 days to find new council. GR interrupted with, "I only need one day. I can do in 1 day what they (his attorneys) have done in a year. The judge continued with, "You have outstanding bills with your attorneys and specialists your attorneys hired to help prove their case"

It was hard to keep up with GR mumbling and speaking out. I heard GR say how badly he has been being treated, I'm not sure if he meant by attorneys or at the jail.

I hope I did this correctly and it helps answer any questions

He interrupted the judge??!! My gosh his new attorney's going to have his/her hands full.

A quick update from court today, the judge allowed GR to release his attorneys and has 30 days to get a new one. I need to edit the full report, it has some things in it that aren't allowed in here. Feel free anyone I sent it to, make it allowable and post it. :floorlaugh: So sorry, I had a busy day on top of court and I'll update as soon as I can.

I have to go get my kids
On March 3, 2014, the judge gave Ganesh Ramsaran 30 days to get a new lawyer.

Does anyone have any news?

:jail: isn't taming his narcissistic side whatsoever apparently!

And happy birthday Mr Ihavenoclue

This wheel spinning he's doing breaks my heart. You'd think if he was so sure he was innocent and would be found so, he'd want to get on with it, not sit in a jail cell without his fan club... Would he have his own cell? If he does, I can see spending so much time with his favourite person might not be helping him face reality.

:waiting: for word on a new court date.... anyone have any news at all?

I'm hearing via the J4J site that 1) the trial may start in July (but I've previously heard May or June), and 2) JR's new NJ attorney(s) have been calling JR's family (maternal aunt) to ask questions about the case.

I don't get it. Can a person just rack up a $72,000 bill, then go hire a new lawyer? Or perhaps some stroke of genius fundraising has paid off the bill?

Ah well. I guess if he had no money, he'd get a public defender so I shouldn't worry. I do want to see GR with good representation at his trial - because I don't want to see any questions raised after the verdict's in. I do feel the biggest barrier to that may be GR himself though. A person can't be made to listen to the advice of lawyers, if he thinks he knows better.

In England, cases fall completely silent before the trial, as no one is allowed to mention any previous convictions or anything at all, really. Sometimes victim's families know of really shocking information though, and I always think it must be so hard for them, staying silent. It certainly encourages me to wait patiently, if they can.

Justice rolls along at its own pace, but it is coming for Jennifer, of that I am sure.

Does anyone know if there is any possibility of any sort of live coverage of the forthcoming trial?

Just a few random thoughts, having been away for awhile:

1) First, a big THANK YOU to Upstate and other locals who have made it a point to go to the court hearings, and fill us in -- it gives a better picture than just the cut and dried report from the news coverage.

2) It seems, regardless of venue, GR is unlikely to make a favorable impact on a jury. ...interrupting the judge, angry outbursts, narcissistic statements...

3) I guess, given the proximity of Hackensack to Yonkers, that GR's parents must have found the new attorney. Perhaps someone in the family has retained her services before? Anyone know anything about her?

Haven't been able to find out much about Mary Ann Kricko, other than she practices general law. She doesn't seem to be very well known in the industry.

The only court case I could find (so far) is one where she and her partner (Gilberto Garcia) represented a number of illegal immigrants in a case filed against Walmart (Walmart had hired them, and then the undocumented aliens had been arrested in a raid that the U.S. govt conducted nationwide, so now they were suing Walmart for illegal trafficking and exploitation of undocumented aliens).

An interesting case, but can't help but wonder if she has any experience in capital murder cases?
