I am really starting to wonder what the deal is with tox tests everywhere. Why should they take so long? And why shouldn't her case have been moved to the front of a line, in any event? It is unlikely that Syracuse is currently testing a lot of potential murder victim cases.
If Jennifer had fibro as well as other painful conditions, they are bound to find a variety of prescription meds in her system, IMO. I deal with chronic pain and have a cocktail of drugs in my system at any given time. Some of them, which I no longer take, had very weird side effects and could make one think about suicide. If she was taking any of those, I worry that may be used against her.
Here's my opinion: The police are being thorough. If there were drugs found on preliminary screens, they would do further , more in depth studies to find amounts, how long they have been in her system etc. If there are meds for her known medical conditions, amounts and length of time in her body will be important. If there are other meds not found in her medication list of prescriptions then that could indicate many things including premeditation for another person.
I don't find waiting for all this a problem, it only makes me think they have a poi in mind, they know where that person is and don't feel the community at large is in danger. If there were concerns that there is a killer out there randomly attacking women, the police would be acting differently.
