Bear thoughts for today:
1.I don't like the roads in that area...pretty slick in places still...but many are now passable-just do it with care, and by no means alone....ever!!! Still searching for evidence.

2. After a great deal of experimenting with placing a body in a van, of approximate size and type of van, and JR...not really very easy...unless seat has been removed in center....but did fit also in boot/trunk? area but certainly not comfortable....do not try this at home please.:moo:

3.Received a message today, and will be turning the info the older couple have to share with law enforcement....just some details of a few days before...the important part is that...they contacted me after weeks...and it was due to having visited them...so please, don't be afraid to keep speaking out for Jennifer.:please:

4. I am not with any organization that deals with missing people...while I often assist, I am not an associate of either of the FB pages...my personal specialty is in suicide and domestic violence, and also with other work with grieving parents, and parents of children with special needs. My other affiliations are private...period.:twocents:

5. I leave you with a quote for Jennifer, and all who love her, and are fighting for her... "Forensics helps develop the facts of the case. But interviews and witnesses give you the conclusions of who did the crime.":rocker:WSer's rock!!!:rocker:
~ Gary Hompland

You are priceless!!!

Special thanks goes to the volunteer who let you experiment with placing him/her in a van of approximate size.:tyou:

I was thinking...in our van, where you open the sliding door behind the front passenger seat...the middle bench seats are just for 2 people (and the back for 3) -- so that you can sort of scrunch around to the back. Anyway...that area is big enough to set a large ice chest there (we've done it), so, it's wide enough for a body, and I guess long enough if body is sort of in a fetal position. If I were going to lift a dead body into a van, assuming that the van was of similar make, that's where I would put it. It would be pretty much out of view to passing vehicles, and wouldn't involve a lot of bending to lift.

But...I would DEFINITELY put something under or around the body -- like a shower curtain -- to keep any bodily fluids from seeping out on the van carpet...and would probably wrap the shower curtain around the body and duct tape it. Is the snow still in that area??? or is it mostly melted now??? ...I would be looking for scraps of duct tape, and also a shower curtain or tarp or something discarded somewhere between Center Road and the apartments in Norwich.

JUSTICE FOR JENNIFER!

I think of Jennifer every day; but I just don't know what to do at this point. We need the CoD, or a fully sleuthable suspect, or to be able to look at the actions of the PR team.

If I were local, there's things I'd be quietly doing, and I'm so grateful to ORR for his videos.

Bear... I love you, it probably sounds weird but I do - your work and perspective always lift me when I feel frustrated!

We live in an age where MSM outlets regularly cite bloggers and facebook accounts. The distinctions among legitimate journalism, opinion and just plain old spin are increasing blurred. As anyone who followed the Ayla Reynolds disappearance knows, bloggers were not only interviewed by MSM journalists, but the efforts of these bloggers to promote a certain storyline became a major part of the news coverage. Raising awareness is one thing, advocacy is another, and affecting an outgoing investigation is a whole other ball of wax.

I can only have faith that LE is pursuing this investigation to the best of their ability and that forensics will yield the information needed for justice to be served. All MOO

deoneta, most of us have followed many cases. 'Legitimate journalism' has sadly become an oxymoron, as we have all witnessed in the Jennifer Ramsaran investigation MS Media coverage.....imo..

Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr's, silence and refusal to utilize the valuable resources of volunteer searchers and the public, mislead & reinforced the public's belief that JR had simply left voluntarily, or that the CCSO had the investigation under control.. Imo, if not for an aware citizen, JR's remains may have never been located for years, or decades, if ever..

Until Joe Mahoney's Molarkey article, most of the unverified info provided by the media was spoon fed them by the last person to see JR alive and his mouthpiece/PR unit...

Imo, most of the info provided in MS Media in the initial days since 12/11/2012 has now been debunked thanks to the internet and community awareness...

I agree with what you've said completely about public awareness and internet efforts being a positive in this case. I believe in "citizen journalists", especially since traditional journalism doesn't always hold to the higher standards of the past. FB and twitter are instant and reach millions. I was speaking more of the attempt by third parties to control the flow of information and shape the narrative, not to shed light, but to obscure. All MOO

I'm not sure if anybody had mentioned this or not on any of these threads. It's possibly in the scanner threads.

I was reminded of it from OffRoadRunner's message from a few days ago (BBM):

I don't think he went on SR23 that morning.. I think he took Lake Road out to King Settlement Road, into the Whaupaunauca State Lands (where he ditched the clothes) out to Ripple Road, down into North Norwich, over into Plymouth via Bates Wilson Road or Country Club Road, to SR23 out there, out to Center Road, and back via the State Lands down Moon Hill, ditched the phone and then back on SR23 into Norwich, ditched the van.. and ran to the Y!

No cameras that way!!! It was planned!

As well as Foxfire's message from yesterday (BBM):

I recall that on December 23, 2012, that that 13 year old boy from Hancock, NY, had gotten lost in Whaupaunaucau State Forest while hunting with his father for small game.

This had only happened two weeks after Jennifer's disappearance.

I remember my cousins in Norwich feeding me information that was coming across the scanner, as well as my other cousin who lives in North Norwich commenting on the helicopter that was flying around aiding in the search.

The boy had gotten separated from his father, and failed to return to their pre-designated meeting spot. After two hours of searching, the father went to the Sheriff's Department, and reported the boy missing.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Snowmobile teams responded. Search teams from Madison and Oneida counties came in with dogs. The Norwich Fire Department and other volunteer fire departments responded. The State Police, the Forest Service, and other agencies responded. The LifeNet helicopter was called in from its base in Sidney, New York.

Within hours the boy was located safe along Post Road, out in the middle of the forest.

I looked online and documented the response from the media, as to how fast that story went out, and how far it went out. The news that the boy was located and found was spread as well. I have counted at least 4 of the original "missing" articles, and 20 follow-ups announcing that he had been found, all in less than a 24 hour period.

I'm glad that the boy was discovered, and reunited with his family, but I believe it speaks volumes in regards to the response capabilities of the Chenango County Sheriffs Department, and their ability to get the word out, and bring in and work with other agencies for a common goal.

In regards to Jennifer's case, it speaks volumes in regards to the possible effects of the information that the Sheriff's Department received from GR.

It upsets me to consider that the capabilities were in place to allow for a quick response, but it was possibly hindered by a vague statement made by a POI, and then releasing a missing person's report with that vague statement which implied that the missing woman may have ran away, because "she may have dyed her hair."

While it's true that things concerning the search for this boy, and the response in initiating that search may have been stepped up in the lieu of Jennifer's disappearance... it still would have been nice knowing that such an effort was put forth into looking for Jennifer. Especially if they searched in the vicinity of SR-23 after her van and cell phone were found along the SR 23 corridor, and where her body was later eventually located, two months later.

It doesn't help either, that when an effort was made to arrange a search party, and attempt a search in that vicinity on the weekend of January 18th, 2013, the Chenango County Sheriff's Department released a statement prohibiting it.

The fact that they've remained silent in the aftermath that Jennifer's body was discovered in that area, and have ceased in engaging the community via the Evening Sun or other media is astounding.

Even now, it'd be assuring if they were out and chasing as many leads as possible, maybe knock on doors of houses in the vicinity of Rhinevault/Coy on Center Road, Moon Hill Road/SR 23 area (Chan Aldrich and other roads in the vicinity), and Plank Road Manor area (Plank Road Manor itself, Beech Street, Canasawacta Street, etc.).

Also up on Moon Hill, along Moon Hill Road, Reservoir Hill Road, and down towards Cumbers and Doing Roads.

The longer they go without asking questions, the more likely people are to forget what they may have seen.

While it's easier to say "If you may have seen something, please call our tip-line;" sometimes people are hesitant to do so.

Maybe they're not sure if what they saw was something that was important, and don't want to waste LE's time.

Some may have a prior conviction, or have had some run in with the law in the past, and feel that if they get involved in a case, that it can implicate them as a POI.

Some remain silent because they don't want to be called to witness in the event of a trial.

Maybe the Sheriff and/or the local media needs to inundate the local area with constant reminders that Jennifer was somebodies daughter, mother, and sister... something that will weigh on the minds of potential witnesses to get over whatever fear they may have, and report to the tip hotline.

If you followed it someone planted the seed early on that she ran off.
People run off every day that you don't hear of.

Have you had some runs ins with the Sheriff's office?

I'm not sure if it's legal to post this, but I was amused (in a rather irate, sad way) by this comment under the article linked above:

Excellent reporting by the PS. She changed her hair color and style before she left, yet we arent told what it looked like before, color, length, etc, and what it might look like now. Oh but, dont worry, there's a picture... of her in a hat. We will keep our eyes out for anyone who likes like they have a new hairdo.

Abigail-it's always bothered me that when asked(GR/CC/LD) it couldn't even have been said what the box color was or the new color at the hair dressers. Also in regards to the hair snippets-I'd think if ones wife had kissed them on the forehead prior to leaving you'd notice if she'd cut bangs-especially if she hadn't had them prior, they'd be there in your face. Stating it was a whole new hairdo would make me wonder-just how much hair was found? Did Jennifer really know a lot about cutting her own hair to be able to cut a new hairdo other than cutting off a few inches or bangs? Had she done that before? I know I myself can cut fabric straight but couldn't cut a straight line for bangs. Not to mention-in looking for her wouldn't this be helpful to add to missing person posters to increase the chance you'd find her? Just a few of my random thoughts...

I thought it best to quote myself as there were so many responses. Thank you btw. I wanted to make sure people understood that I wasn't taking any shots against anyone looking at other cases or busy with life. I was more thinking of the things I've seen where people have been called out outside of this forum & I was hoping it wouldn't scare anyone away is all. :please:

If you followed it someone planted the seed early on that she ran off.

Have you had some runs ins with the Sheriff's office?

I didn't become aware of Jenn's disappearance until just a few days before her body was found.

However, if I were following it from the beginning, red flags would have been:

1) Phone discovered. The fact that she did not have her phone with her could have indicated 2 things to me:
a) She had run off and didn't want to be tracked via the GPS on her phone
b) She had met with foul play

2) Her van was discovered, at the Plank Road apartments in Norwich, about 12 miles from where her phone was discovered, covered in mud (and, we later found out, with a blood stain). The van was parked on one of the two routes between Jenn's home and where her phone was discovered. This could have indicated 3 things:
a) She had met someone at the Plank Road apartments, left her van, and run off with that person, tossing her phone out the window on the way (but that doesn't explain the blood or the mud)
b) She had met someone at the Plant Road apartments -- she with the intention of running off with said person, but said person with intention of foul play. She abandoned her van, and left voluntarily with the kidnapper/rapist/serial murderer, and he threw her phone out the window on the way to wherever. (Once again, doesn't explain the mud and blood on the van)
c) She was killed by her husband at home, her body was disposed of somewhere (most likely somewhere near the loop between the home, where the phone was found, and the apartments), he tossed the phone and drove the van to Norwich, where he parked it (this would explain the mud, and perhaps the blood). Then he had to get a ride home. The reg flag would have gotten ominously large when I discovered he had shown up at the YMCA that day without a vehicle, and called a "friend" to give him a ride home.

3) Red flag #3 would have been the discovery that the husband had a mistress...who was also a good friend of Jenn. The same lady who drove him home from the Y on the day that Jenn went missing.

3) Red flag #4 would have been the way GR conducted himself in the interviews (that was the clincher for me, and I had just become aware of the story and didn't even know yet about the mistress and the YMCA and the blood in the van, or the phone)

4) Red flag #5 would have been the way that Jenn was inaccurately portrayed by GR, Gr's PR person, and an anonymous "family friend" that was probably the mistress. All with the obvious intent of steering suspicion away from the husband and mistress, and toward the idea that Jenn was depressed and unstable and had run off.

5) Red flag #6 would have been the way that GR manipulated the Facebook page supposedly dedicated to finding Jennifer to only contain postings like "say a prayer" or "light a candle" rather than allowing serious questions and concerns to be aired. That and snarling about certain media reports. Methinks thou doth protest too much.

Not to mention-in looking for her wouldn't this be helpful to add to missing person posters to increase the chance you'd find her? Just a few of my random thoughts...

I cut my own bangs, and sometimes a few face framers. I leave the rest to the hairdresser. However, not too long ago, my hair was getting pretty long, and the weather was oppressively hot, and I just got aggravated and grabbed some scissors and snipped about 4 inches off the back -- of course, I then had to wear it in a ponytail when I left the house, until I had a chance to go get a real haircut, so no one would see my ragged ends. And...here's the clincher...even though I was wearing my hair down around the house, my husband never even NOTICED the 4 inches missing from my hair. So...it's entirely possible that GR might not have noticed a new haircut.

HOWEVER, saying "she MAY have changed her hair color" doesn't make any sense at all. Did she or didn't she? If she'd had it done at the salon a day or two before, I would think that one of her 3 kids or her husband would have known that her hair color had changed -- and what color it was. If she'd changed it the day she disappeared, the box would have been in the wastebasket, and once again, the new shade could have been announced.

And, if GR found hair clippings in the waste basket, the amount of hair in the wastebasket along with whether Jenn habitually trimmed her own bangs, could have let us know if it were just a little fringe trim, or if she'd cut off most of her locks.

Quite frankly, I would guess that any changes to her hair would have been minor -- from the photos, and from a more accurate description of her personality, it appears that she preferred to wear her hair long, and was not the type to make dramatic changes in hair or clothing.

OK, this question is for POB, and it has to do with Jenn's online gaming and her messages that got deleted.

POB, did Jenn usually play on her phone or on her computer - or do you know? For instance, would she have been playing while she was sitting in the gym when the kids were at basketball practice?

Do gamers make a habit of switching back and forth between playing on their phone to playing on their computer?

If she DID always play on her phone, how easy would it be for someone to access that game from her computer and delete her messages on the game site? Does one need a password to get into the game?

It just occured to me that GR supposedly did not have access to her phone after she went missing (except for when he "found" it by the bridge). So...that would mean that he'd have had to access the game from her computer, I guess. Just wondering how easy that would be?

The game username is linked to the phone that opened the account and can only be accessed from that phone, no passwords are needed. The Touch app that shares messages, photos etc was outside the game and didn't link to the phone, so could be accessed through another device. Hope that makes sense!

Well...just took a look at the video, and there's only one photo of her with bangs -- that's when the two older kids were babies, so at least 10 years ago. So...I would think she wasn't in the habit of trimming her bangs. Her hair length varied in photos from just below her shoulders to about 4 or 5 inches longer, and it looks like she had a few long layers at some times, but once again, no dramatic changes. Her hair color varied from a dark brown to a sort of dark ash blond/light brown. So...some subtile changes, but most likely no changes that would have made her unrecognizable, especially since the photo that was initially release showed her in a hat!

In my opinion, the flyer should have just left that useless info out and put something more helpful in.

Just wanted to cry watching that video -- you can just see how sweet and loving she was with her family.

Another red flag that I would point out is that GR allowed Jennifer's Facebook page to be used by a third-party organization, which possibly damaged any possible electronic evidence.

Her friends list which had been public was set to private. Many of her photographs that she had set to public were either removed or privatized, and replaced with Missing Person posters.

Under normal circumstances, the page would have been left untouched as the person left it. Also to monitor possible log-ins to trace the IP address or location of the log-ins.

Another red flag I would mention is GR's utter lack of sincerity and awkward statements given on his behalf by his "spokesperson" leading up to the discovery of Jennifer's remains, and shortly thereafter. These have painted him in an incriminating light.

Coupled with the fact that GR has recently deactivated his Facebook account, and gone utterly silent, despite his vow of vengeance.

One would assume that he would keep his Facebook page activated, and deplore people, and deplore the public through the media, to call for people to come forward if they have any tips.

For one grieving the death of his wife, after the discovery of her body, which was disposed of in a manner indicating foul play, and coupled with the evidence that her phone and her van were left in two different locations...

It's a very strange thing that he's been as silent (if not moreso) as the LE has been.

It's his fault and the fault of his "spokesperson" that he's the main POI in many peoples minds.
