Why isn't this considered high priority? Why not hire more people to get caught up?
I have wondered if there aren't enough people who are qualified to do the testing.

When it comes to forensic testing, murders are usually given priority in the queue ahead of cases of assault where the victim is alive. Not always, as nothing is 100%, but when you see backlogs in DNA testing it's not usually for a murder case.
