I don't believe they got DNA from the AC murder cases.
The fact that Terry Oleson himself offered and provided his DNA to the police is not the same as that police had the killers DNA.
Add to that that Terry Oleson never got an answer back from police on whether his DNA was a match or not, witch tells me that
police did NOT have the killers DNA to compare to TO's DNA.
AND the 4 AC victims was found in water which probably washed of the killers DNA, the killer probably was well aware of that and
therefore place the 4 victims in water.

But if you have info where the police states that they have DNA from the AC killer please provide a link.

I agree with you Fo, i think they had dna that was compromised perhaps. did they arrest oleson and charge him but then when they tested his dna released him? They might have something

That would have been a quick arrest, IMO. If these comments are true.

Why would the "suspect" they're talking about do it outside when he had private access to her at home? That theory is ridiculous.

Its strange that people are eager to donate money even thought her father offered to give it to the killer.

Right. I think the perp committed the rape and murder outdoors because he was outdoors. That detail is important imo.

They never charged Terry Oleson.

But do they actually have to be homeless in order to be a transient like police think?

I don't think they are, just based on the brutality of the crime. In my mind, if they were homeless, they probably wouldn't have much money for food or choose to spend it on food. And that would make them really low-energy most likely. And this is a crime of very high brutality. So the scenarios I can think of is that they probably ate that day or were on drugs or both.
Also, this crime happened at the very beginning of the month, so it could make sense that a possible lease can be up and they can just leave undetected (some landlords offer a few days grace period to move heavy furniture out / empty apartments).

I'm in the same vein with that line of thinking. While mental illness is common with homeless people; the majority of them are out of jobs, or became homeless because they got sick and couldn't work. They are generally a hopeless and low-spirited bunch, who rarely approach regular people except to ask for money, and most of'em don't even do that. They just wanna be left alone, for the most part, because they are worried they will be asked to move along from their little box or tent. I never bought the homeless/vagrant theory, and I don't think the police were ever serious with that. Now a transient is a different story. Transients aren't destitute, they are people who move around on purpose.

And, I'd like to add there are people who have homes and perhaps jobs (or live with people who have jobs), and they spend time in parks like that one....hanging out, drinking, smoking, whatever.

Her house has cameras. She also lived across the street from the US Post office. The perp knows the park has (had) no cameras.

Edit: just wanted to make it clear that I do not agree with who they think is the suspect, there is one comment on the FB post that I kind of agree with, but it is a separate person not whom the others are blaming.

I hate to say it...but, IMO, even a million dollar reward won't bring anyone forward.
IF someone knows something and they are not stepping forward with info, its not because they want more money. Its because they are afraid.

If previously mentioned, forgive my reposting. My gosh, I can't believe all the places they found perp's DNA - was this a 3x rape?

The DNA evidence was found on Ms. Vetrano’s hands, her throat, and her cellphone, the official said.

ETA: Don't know how to word this, - but can one man have much sexual stamina to do all that?

And quickly!!
Sounds crazy to me.

But...(and I can't believe I'm posting this on a public site) maybe he didn't "finish". Maybe he has a problem.

I was surprised with the throat one too. But I'm not sure if they used the word throat instead of neck?

Neck makes much more sense.

yes, I said the same earlier especially since it had to be a rushed attack given the timeframe of her being found within a few hours Plus I would think he would hurriedly rape and then kill not knowing if some passerby or jogger was going to go by.....
Weird!!!

Do we know who she was texting? If she told that person she was alone? And they told someone else ( a brother, close friend, even just innocently mentioned it). Also DNA could possibly be from a cut on perps hands if she scratched him.
