I think they are waiting on DNA to rule it out completely. But they are still investigating other statements he made.

Not sure who is misreporting, but, this article states that MF was ranting "The father did it". Not that HIS father did it.

I read the same, but news casters reported "my father". So I'm not sure who is misreporting.

If that is accurate about "the" father doing it, then I really don't believe this guy is anything other than what he appears - a disturbed and drugged man in the park with no connection to the crime.

"Shortly before the meeting started, Phil Vetrano, Karina’s father, who discovered her dead body on Aug. 2, told the Queens Chronicle he believes there might be some good news soon.
“I think so,” he said.
When asked about the investigation, Barrere said he could only divulge that the suspect is a man, but did not want to comment on his age or ethnicity.
“That’s all I can say at this time,” he told the audience."

"Hours after the meeting ended, police discovered an emotionally disturbed, naked man in the marshland’s creek."



So...this meeting occured before the drugged disturbed man was found.

Intereresting, and not off topic, but this guy would have been tied by DNA to the Vetrano case by now if he were the killer.

No this meeting was the same night the crazed drug naked man was found.

I'm new to this thread so I apologize if this has already been asked/answered, but have the police ever publicly said the DNA on KV doesn't match the DNA found on Vanessa Marcotte? I know that's the assumption but am curious about what's been stated to the press.

Also, I read KV was raped 2 x on this thread. Do we know if an actual rape (i.e. actual sexual contact between killer and KV) occurred or some other type of sexual violation?

Whether the naked raving man (his initials are MF) was screaming "my father did it" or "the father did it," why would that even be something he'd be screaming? Can't see LE, finding MF knee-deep in the marsh and highly agitated, then asking him about KV's murder right then and there. They are trained to respond with caution to an EDP and I doubt they'd do/say anything to compromise this high profile case. Yes, people on drugs and the mentally ill do some bizarre things, but running out into a marsh naked at 11:00 pm near a murder scene and screaming about the murder sounds like something a man berserk with guilt who took a bunch of drugs (in a suicide attempt?) might do.

It was reported that MF was also screaming about his genitals. Thinking about KV's mom referring to the killer's lack thereof.

There's a corresponding address very close to Resorts World Casino and just a couple of miles from the entrance to Spring Creek Park near the murder scene.
