Can't the DNA though show male or female? Weren't they going to do familial DNA comparisons?

Her being possibly rape by objects, brutally beaten, strangled makes me think it's someone that knew her and for whatever reason disliked her.

Or perhaps, if a stranger, angry about being hurt, maybe kicked in the privates at the time of the attack even, as Karina Vetrano was said to have tried to fight off her attacker very vigorously. If you'll recall, Chief Boyce mentioned that in the Crime Watch report.

Seems to me if this is that important, LE could do an investigation on all GP purchases in the area. Best Buy comes to mind. Also, IF the GP owner uploaded video to another device (laptop, mobile phone, tablet) that file traversed the internet and is now discoverable thru digital forensics. And, IF any of the footage was sent by email or posted on Instagram, again, it is now part of the world's indelible ink. It's a huge undertaking, of course. I would also think LE would be conducting surveillance of the area for bike riders. But, wasn't the video handed over to LE? I thought I read that somewhere. And if so, LE doesn't know who handed it over? Confused.

My impression and what I am taking from this is that the person handed it over to LE, LE does not want to show PV full video. PV wants to see full video. I'm thinking if this woman could be a potential witness then they would release photo as they did with sketch of the possible witness.

Shocked about MF's DNA not matching, as it seems the V family was, too (update 73 on the page). Curious that MF wasn't cleared of involvement with Karina's death sooner.

I saw on the RIP KV page on FB that Mr. Vetrano says he just found out about that page Oct. 12. I thought he and his family were connected to it from the start. Maybe if they read through the posts they'll see someone or something mentioned that helps them in the case.

There is also a post on the RIP KV page from CV, about the gopro footage. It was handed over to LE, but family wants copy. I'm curious why LE is very secretive about the footage. They originally stated no one was seen entering prior or after KV, but this footage shows otherwise. I can understand LE wanting to keep parts of investigation private and I can also see why the family is desperate to see this footage. I know if it was my family member I would want to see any possible evidence. I'm hoping the reason LE has not shown or released this because they are trying to investigate this lead.

Speaking of the FB page, I had seen something odd on it way back, maybe in August. Someone posted a picture of a woman's torso with exposed cleavage and a lot of jewelry, and wrote something in Arabic under it. It seemed as if the poster was saying, and I am just paraphrasing from memory, "Well, she dressed like this, so she had it coming." I clicked on the guy's profile and IIRC he claimed to be someplace in the Middle East, although he could have been anywhere. Did anyone else see that? I'll try to find it.

My heart got very heavy watching this - the last views Karina had. In a naive way I hope when humans are faced with this kind of trauma our brains are able to protect us in those last moments. I say this as someone who had a cousin kidnapped, raped, and murdered at 15. I have always hoped that her last moments weren't full of terror even though logically that doesn't make sense. I hope the same for Karina - I know her last moments were full of fight, but I hope in the very end she felt peace.

Well said, atothem, thank you. It's a prayer so many have in so many circumstance, I imagine, as they lose their loved ones to misfortune. Though I have no way of knowing what happens for others, and it's hard to explain, so please don't ask, but based on experience, of all the moments in life that flashed before I tuned out when faced with death, it wasn't the present situation, that came later.
