Sorry just jumping in here and wasn't sure if this was addressed --- why just dna from under her fingers ?
Wouldn't there be semen ?

Anyway --so glad they caught this worthless monster.

Rest in gentle peace, Karina.

My utmost condolences to her loved ones for having to be placed into this nightmare.

Interesting:

<snip> Boyce said Lewis does not have a criminal history, but does have multiple summonses in the Howard Beach area, particularly on the bicycle path that leads to the entrance to the park from the East New York side.

Jumping off your post.

A criminal court summons – also known as a "pink ticket" – is issued by a police officer for violating certain laws. Most people who receive a summons are not arrested and fingerprinted unless they fail to show identification.

So it sounds like he got pink slips for what ever reason.

Richard Lewis said his son was a good student.

“He did extremely well,” the dad said.

He said his son was planning for a career in social services and received money and recommendations from his high-school principal.

Richard Lewis said he had never heard about the Vetrano case until Sunday.

“I saw it on the television this morning,” Richard Lewis said. “I’ve never heard about it. I’ve never read about it. Nothing at all.”

We all heard of it. I'm not buying that.

Also from the nypost article.

The dad said he came to the East New York home where his son lives with his mother after seeing his boy’s name in the news Sunday morning.

So no one called the dad to say that LE had been there thursday to talk to the humble son and take a cheek swab and not one called to say he was taken in for ?ing, he sees his boy's name in the news yet he is clueless to the murder of Katina? I'm not buying it either.

I would like to know how he got to go to that school. Did his father have connections?

His dad is a retired principal, ps181.

It's a school for troubled youth, so I'm guessing he got in because he's troubled and couldn't be in regular school. I don't think it's a school you'd want to go?? What am I missing?

he is a "size 7" student as reffered to in special education schools.Seems Normal to the common person, but is not. These students are emotionally disturbed. They feel no empathy. Look it up. This is definitely the case with him. If only we could see what his IEP says (The Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) is a plan or program developed to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the law and is attending an elementary or secondary educational institution receives specialized instruction and related )

Just an observation. That kid was all alone. There seemed to be no family support or neighborhood support whatsoever.

Father chimes in with with random comments.

Usually when we see cases like this, there are always people/family in support. Nothing here~~~~~~~~~

He does seem disturbed to me.Gave his DNA willingly. Just watching.

Lewis's father, retired elementary school principal Richard Lewis, 70, told The New York Post he was shocked by his son's arrest.

'Chanel would never have gone to do what they say he has done. He’s never had a fight in his 20 years,' he said.
Describing his son as a 'humble kid', he said he was planning a career in social services and had done 'well' at Martin De Porres High School in Far Rockaway, Queens.
Lewis was an honor roll student who dreamed of a career in social services but was not working, he said.

I realize that. His father just seems so distant from everything. That's why I asked.

RSBM

In this day and age... it's impossible for me to believe the perp's father hadn't heard about the death of this young lady.
Doesn't he even use the internet ??
Crazy.
