Lewis's family, however, maintain he's innocent and that evidence against him has been concocted.

"He was a saint. He would never take another person's life," said Theresa Forbes, 36, the sister of Chanel Lewis who was arrested Saturday for the high-profile murder.

"He's not guilty. Tell them to look for the real killer," his mother told reporters outside their East New York home.




He was a SAINT? I can see saying you might not think he was capable of killing someone, if he was your loved one. But calling him a SAINT? After he was expelled for threatening to stab female students? :thinking:

With how close the family lives (both his mother and father) to where the crime happened, all the media attention, and posters up in the area....and he comes home on the same day with scratches all over him and lies about what happened, they didn't think to put the two together?!?!? Ugh.

The more I see the father of CL and the sketch the more it looks like him with the wool hat (skinnier though) . Perhaps he went looking for CL after he left in a rage.

I also thought it was curious that the father said he had never heard of this murder case. Wasn't it blasted all over the tv/radio and papers? And lots of posters all about?

Glad to see they have a suspect. I watched the police video of the arrest and its very clear to me that there is something "off" about him. The way he looked around seemed very odd like he didn't understand it all. Almost over stimulated. My nephew is autistic and it reminded me of him when he is uncomfortable situations. Perhaps he was a bright student and was pushed beyond his sensory limits with the loud music blaring and just freaked out? Still inexcusable.

I don't think he knew there would be a crowd of people to greet him. Shock and awe Then the name calling from the crowd. I don't think he expected all that. jmo

Yes, I am a local. It was everywhere. TV, local papers, and posters on poles etc. Everywhere. There's no way he didn't hear it once.

I'm also saddened the hospital didn't report it when he came in. I thought all local hospitals were on alert for anyone coming in with injuries.

Well then let's pull a mannequin which is the same height and build as KV was through the brush right where the perp dragged her--- and see if the clothes come off.

Btw, jogging clothing fits pretty snugly on even thin people.
As in-- you have to tug to get them off of you.

As far as his sister saying he's a 'saint' -- if MY family lied for me (after being accused of a crime ) I wouldn't respect them anymore.
( Ahem.... Don't worry as I am law-abiding and have a healthy respect for others ; it was ingrained in me since childhood. )

If CL is such a 'saint' -- he can go and live with those who feel he's harmless.

It's bothersome to think that someone (related or otherwise) might have tried to cover for him.
A lot of deflecting going on by his nearest and dearest.
As if they're going to fight this no matter what the evidence shows.

KVs friend deleted her post mentioned earlier, i wonder why?
I think her family and friends are hurting so bad, maybe even more so knowing that she was killed bc CL was "angry" It was truly senseless. it doesn't seem like sex was the motivator, it was just bc he raged.

Haven't read thru to see if there was response to this but I'm guessing she was being harassed by "nay Sayers" which pisses me off if that's the case!

Hmm...thinking here. The dad shows up yesterday with the diploma and the medical records. Now that move is making sense - the dad must have known the attack happened in August when graduation and "mugging" happened too.

It seemed so random yesterday for the dad to mention the graduation and "mugging," but now I'm thinking he was specifically pointing out what CL was doing in August, not just trying to demonstrate he was a "good kid" in general. (And I think the father knew perfectly well in August about Karina, jmopinion.)

As a runner, I agree that the spandex/compression type running shorts do not come off easily and the running bras are VERY snug. I have done obstacle races where I have crawled under barbed wire and waded through mud and my shorts/top stayed put.

Yep, I'm a runner too and i feel the same. They are meant to fit snugly. Even if her clothes came off from dragging, that doesn't explain why there is evidence of rape.

So she was attacked on path until unconsciousness? Then dragged from his account?
