I graduated HS here in nyc in the late 1980s.. I don't know if things have changed since then But we had our graduation first in like June and then we went back to school another day to pick up our diploma.. Also I spoke with my husband and he said he did not go to his graduation and had to take one more class to get his diploma and he got his in August...Again we both graduated in the late 1980s things could of changed by then.. But there might not be any graduation photos.

I'd like to see the graduation day photos.

I was thinking he had to take another class for his diploma. Looks like there was a graduation for his HS in June. I don't think he attended that graduation.

"Chanel Lewis voluntarily gave police a DNA sample when he appeared on their radar in the murder of Karina Vetrano. Now new details surrounding his past could get that DNA sample thrown out."

"Retired NYPD Sergeant Joseph Giacolone says there could be potential issues in court with that voluntary DNA sample if it turns out Lewis has a mental health problem.

"He is of age, but in order to give something, it has to be be done voluntarily, intelligently and knowingly," says Giacolone.

Giacolone says the defense will more than likely want that DNA profile thrown out, but says there is also the confession, which is tough to ignore."

We talked about that a few times on here and I never felt like I knew the answer. Since she was strangled, I would think she would be grabbing his hands or face, etc.

Could it be that it was issued in August like the diploma states and not that he graduated late?

I've been wondering about this. :(

Yes, I am a local. It was everywhere. TV, local papers, and posters on poles etc. Everywhere. There's no way he didn't hear it once.

I'm also saddened the hospital didn't report it when he came in. I thought all local hospitals were on alert for anyone coming in with injuries.

Maybe HIPAA stops that now?

My thoughts exactly!

This is crazy... and I don't believe this- but what if it was the father. It's not even my opinion, because I don't believe that. But. But. It's not. But

But....

<snip>

Richard Lewis, the suspect's father denies that his son has any mental health issues.

"I don't know of it, says Lewis in regards to his son having been treated for any issues. "Only the doctors could tell you."

Most parents don't believe their children could ever do something illegal, let alone cruel, violent, heinous, murderous. Denial runs deep.

Think about your own kids. Could you ever imagine one of them killing another human? Could you parents of teen boys ever think they could attack a woman? I bet most will say "Hell no! My child would never ever do something to hurt another person!" And yet... hundreds of thousands of assaults occur each year. Hundreds of murders, thousands of rapes. Someone's child each and every time is doing that, some offend multiple times.

These parents are in complete denial. Everything is suspect, it's all been planted, it's a conspiracy, everyone is trying to bring down a race...it goes on and on. How many times do we hear "he was framed, framed I tell ya!" in murder cases (quite often, in fact).

This is just another set of parents in complete denial, so much so that they can't contemplate there being a valid DNA test matching to their sweet innocent child.

"Just one day after Karina Vetrano's body was found, Richard admitted to PIX11 that he took his son to the hospital for numerous cuts and scratches that he saw on his sons' arms.

He says he does not see a coincidence into the timing of the two incidents."

Denial--it's not just a river in Egypt

I'm sorry. He is an educated man who is an ex principal of a NYC school. He can't be that blind. This was all over the news non stop. Flyers up on poles. Front page covers of news papers. He knew.

What if there is some truth... what if it's the father's DNA. I don't know much about how DNA works. But this would be one wackadoodle theory... but I mean it would be the ONLY reason for DNA to be wrong... it's all familial... again. A thought but not a anything I can entirely get behind.

Is this unfounded. I can delete.

I'm thinking diminished intelligence might be used (if he is diminished) by the defense to try to throw out the confession and DNA compliance. I am sure LE wants the charges to stick and followed all the rules.....but defense will fight it, I'm sure. JMOPINION

Right. I'm saying I think it's possible he had planned the attack or at least seen her before. Maybe he had scoped the area for possible victims ahead of time.

Could Gino's, where KV and PV got pizza that night, have been a regular meeting place for them, or Tuesday a regular "pizza night?" I read that CL left his house angry that evening and went to go get something to eat in HB. Was it Gino's? Maybe CL saw K there.

The parents just need to keep quiet,if anything , they are making it worse for their son. It's obvious with the lies and cover up.Their son was framed oh come on give me a break.DNA doesn't lie and neither does all the scratches and cuts.Got news none of this will fly.Another observation why all the anger toward women, was he ever abused by one or saw a women being mistreated..
