Sources believe Sanchez was texting her boyfriend while walking with her mother to stage her kidnapping. Sanchez's boyfriend has gang ties and a lengthy criminal history. He is currently wanted for grand larceny.

The NYPD plans to subpoena Sanchez's social media accounts and phone records to find out what was said between her and her boyfriend. The case remains an active and undergoing investigation.

Sanchez has not been charged and no arrests have been made.
