NY - Lauren Belius, 6, stabbed to death, 19 July 2011 *Insanity*

Why, why WHY??? :(

Two weeks later? How could you possibly know anyone well enough in that short a time to be able to trust them around your two precious daughters??? :maddening:

The 2 weeks timeline only indicates the father moved out and the boyfriend moved in after 2 weeks. Doesn't tell nothing of how long the mother knew the boyfriend.

Lauren's Funeral is today.

**********************************************

Of all the boyfriend situations we have seen, this mother seems the most competent.

I haven't seen anything that indicates there would be a warning sign to the family in this case.
Dad and Grandma asked the girls if they liked him and they said yes.
They observed him around the girls and they seemed to interact well with him and like him.
They did more than many families! Lauren's Mom and siblings are actually staying with her mother in law.

I have seen no one credible say bad things about the suspect in this case.
They all are saying that he was such a nice guy, they can't believe this happened.
The closest I've seen is the coworker quoted in the article below saying he was seeing demons at night.
That would fit with the rumor that he killed Lauren because he thought she was evil.
He is 30 years old... maybe Paranoid Schizophrenia? Seeing demons at night...

(This article backs up some of the topix posts for those who were reading that. Employment, coworker accounts and Allison suffering injuries herself.)

Three weeks ago, David L. Trebilcock asked a coworker if he could take a break during his shift at R Nursing Home.

When his coworker, Heather, went outside a few minutes later, she found him sitting in a chair, looking lost.

“He said he had been seeing demons at night,”
she said.

She brushed it off at the time, suggesting he get some sleep. Now, she wonders if the conversation was a sign of a mental breakdown.

Allison Belius, 36, tried to stop Trebilcock, suffering cuts herself.

John Belius said he would always talk to his children about their mother’s boyfriend.

“I always asked the girls if he was nice to them and if he was nice to mommy,”
he said.

“I asked the questions because I wanted to see if there were any signs of abuse. But there was nothing.”

“She’s so precious to us, and we miss her so much,” Danough said. “It’s so many lives that he’s ruined by taking Lauren. She’s a big empty hole in our lives now.”

And none of it makes sense to anyone, Danough said – not her, not Lauren’s mother, Allison Belius, 36, and not the girl’s father, John Belius. Even state police don’t seem to yet comprehend why Trebilcock might have decided to kill Lauren, they said.

The few times that Danough had seen Trebilcock, she said he seemed to get along with the two young girls and their 9-year-old brother, N.

“I questioned the kids many times. ‘Do you like him?’ I’d ask, and they said they did,” Danough said.

This is the same man who state police say entered the twins’ bedroom around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, pushed a dresser to block the bedroom door moments before he allegedly began to repeatedly stab Lauren, right in front of her sister, E.

E, N and their mother (Allison)– a graduate of Camden High School in the early 1990s – have been staying at Danough’s home ever since Belius woke up Tuesday morning to the screams of her daughter.

Schizophrenia usually develops in late teens, early twenties. If this guy was 30 and didn't display symptoms that seems to be late for an onset. I hope they do a tox screen on him to see if he partook in any drugs.

It would surprise me a little more... because kids generally show some sign of that. Even if they are still happy and don't act afraid of the abuser. Sometimes the signs are missed because the parent is not looking for them or is in denial. A few kids are just really good at hiding it.

Lauren's Dad was looking for something to point to abuse and could find nothing.

Lauren was the outgoing twin, E was the shy one. He had a choice here... If one was to be targeted for abuse I'd think it would be E.
It is a bit more plausible to me that E had been being abused and he tried to abuse Lauren for the first time that night... and since she is not shy, she fought back.

Anything is possible, but this is one case I'm not immediately jumping to the abuse conclusion.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they come out and say she showed no signs of abuse... and I won't be all that surprised if they come out and say that she had been abused.

This is about an hour from where I live. And yes, very sad.

She did stab him to try and stop him, he had stab wounds in his back.

My guess is that he is alive solely because there was another little girl in that room... and this mother probably realized she had to make sure she was safe.

Yes Ms and she also carried her bloody child out of there for help.I hope this guy dies.

I feel the exact same way! I was raised to believe in God but with all of the horrible things that happen to children I just can't understand how God can allow this stuff to happen. Really makes me question what I believe. I just can't stand to see a child hurt. :banghead:

Why would anyone bring any "Unknown" under the roof with her baby or babies" Mother is not responsible for this heinous stabbing..BUT when will single mom's ever learn to protect their "Cubbies"??? Yike..been there..done that..sure was a HELL OF ALLOT OF HOOPs and Trials to be proven LONG before a "Suitor" even got exposed my my Boyz....Yikes!!
damn him....I'm just so angry! May he rot in hell.

I am sure this nasty excuse for a man will ROT IN HELL..but more important ALL single mom's who feel lonely should take NOTICE...NO WAY ANYONE connects with your KIDS until they have proven themselves..over and over again!!!!!
It is a horrible, unhinkable crime, but God gave man the gift of free will, so unfortunately, evil things happen on earth that can't abe stopped, and they are increasing because we live in a fallen world.

Yes Indeed..free will is something that is paramount..however. the flip side of your choices means "SUFFER CONSEQUENSES"//..I happen to believe that this "Mother" is going to experience "Hell on Earth" with what she saw!..however..IT also should be just another example of poor decisions single parents of "youngsters" make ALL TOO OFTEN!!..
I am just so disallusioned right now I could SPIT!!

When asked why anybody would want to do this to a child, especially someone she considered her boyfriend, Allison Belius said she feels Trebilcock just wasn't the man she thought she knew.

"I thought I knew him before and obviously I didn't," she said Monday. "Two years wasn't enough to get to know somebody very well, I guess. I never saw it coming. I don't know what kind of person he is. The person I thought I knew would never do this to my daughter."

When the topic of setting bail came up at Monday's arraignment, Trebilcock spoke up and told the judge "I don't want any bail." He then asked the judge if he could be placed in solitary confinement at the Oneida County Correctional Facility.

I am so sorry for the mother, but I cannot understand why - or how - she can continue to speak to the media. I would be on my knees.

There is no doubt in my mind why he killed this precious child. I just hope this woman has enough presence of mind to get the twin into therapy....NOW.

RIP beautiful baby girl.

If the abuse just started, she could have threatened to tell and ended up dead. Not every kid is the perfect victim.

That's basically what I said. (My entire previous post quoted below.)

E would likely make a better victim because she isn't as outgoing.

It sounds like Lauren might be more likely to speak up the first time it happened... and it's plausible to me that he tried to abuse her and she fought back, resulting in him killing her. Or that she woke up to find him abusing E and spoke up.

However, none of that really seems to fit with the circumstances and he hasn't been charged with that. They could always add it later.

I think it is just as plausible that this is one of those random, without a real reason murders. Jonathan Foster... Leiby...

BBM. What do you mean? I think I missed something because I am lost as to why - seems to me he snapped and did something completely out of character.
