GUILTY NY - Levon Wameling, 9 months, Utica, 29 May 2013

  • #121
Hello all I talked with Levon's aunt through facebook Tiffany Smith and told her about the forums here on Websleuths, resources and support. A place she could come for support to share or not and post pictures to get the word out if she would like. She was very upset about the judgement's she felt towards her sister on facebook. She and her mother are just beside themselves. She may be joining us.
I messaged her yesterday as well. I hope she joins!

FBI, Center for Missing & Exploited Children helping search for missing infant

The search Thursday saw more involvement by New York State Police, US Marshals, the FBI and the addition of investigators from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children based in Virginia. Search dog units are also being used.

Utica Police told NEWSChannel 2 that neighbors have been approaching officers while out searching to offer help.

This has been all over our local news for the past couple of days

I had friends that use to live there

but she moved saying it was a bad area

I agree with the poster above-start looking in dumpsters

He had 2 weeks to hide the baby

hope you are safe Levon!!

What I don't understand is if a parent feels compelled to hurt or kill their own child (incomprehensible to me and I have no children) why they don't give custody to someone else, particularly another family member who actually WANTS to to care for the child. I have read several cases on here where the parent has been charged with killing their child or is a POI in their child's murder. I don't get it !! Anyone have an insight into the reason for this ?

I'm with you, ellie b. The only thing I can think of is (1) the perp doesn't look outside of his own selfish emotions, or (2) the injury or death is caused by accident or in a fit of rage (e.g., sudden onset).

These poor, poor children who happened to be born to unsuitable people and never had a chance. There are so many of us who would be honored to love, raise and nurture these throw-away children. Breaks my heart to pieces.

pardon me if this question is stupid. When an AA is sent out, there is presumption that the child is alive, yes?

First, why isn't the child listed as medically fragile? Maybe I missed that but I would think that would be important to mention. Of course, odds are the child is deceased, sad to say, so it wouldn't really matter.
Also, at the risk of sounding politically incorrect or insensitive, am I the only one that questions the child's paternity? I realize that genetics are a funny thing but generally I believe that there would be some indication of the child being racially mixed. My granddaughter's father was biracial, so she is 1/4 African American but she is very distinctively racially mixed. I only bring this up because if there is a question in the father's mind about his paternity it may explain his lack of apparent concern or even a motive.

I was thinking this exact same thing, I just didn't want to be the one to say it.

I think it's in case the child is alive. They wouldn't want to assume a child is dead without very hard evidence. It would be worse than unfair to the child.
