I am so glad that some of you observed the possible bi-racial connection. I wanted to post about it yesterday but had company over the weekend.

How would this play into the killer's apparent disregard for women as objects that can be thrown away? I wasn't even sure if I wanted to broach this subject of racism because I don't understand it. But I am well aware that there are people out there who are full of hatred. (The Norway killer who was a poser, posed as a police officer to commit his crimes, BTW, comes to mind. He had issues with mixing of the races, IIRC)

Oh Yes, I think you guys are on to something. It is hard to express in words I agree, but he could be on a mission to rid OB of those undesirables who come there to work. It seems pretty specific to me if one considers a prostitute to chooses to have children with people of a different race. And so this would be what his mission is, to stop these type of ladies from servicing OB's men and not to simply stop prostitution in OB. Make sense?

It seems so possible Redbird I wonder if the FBI has looked at this? Are they still working the case? I heard on the news they are cutting back now due to budget cuts.

Seems to me that there is a case to be made that certain known SK's or suspected SK's or war criminals/mass murderers who commonly think this way, are often Doctors, or have been Doctors..and use the excuse of trying to rid or end suffering/or undesirability...or even that the experience they gain from their torturing/ending of suffering has more intrinsic value than the life of the victim.

I think there have been quite a few...Joseph Mengele was one for starters.

I also agree that you guys may be onto something with this racial connection. I still feel that this case will end up having some sort of heavy religious overtone to it also. The burlap used on the Gilgo Beach bodies could have represented a material to "chastise" these poor women even in death. MOO.

Welcome to WS's Theforeigner!!! I agree with you... I also feel that there is a connection to the AC and LI murders. The MO changed somewhat, but there is a period of time between the two sets, and it wouldn't be the first time a SK has changed up his MO.

I also strongly feel there is a connection between AC and LI, foreigner.

There is at least 1 (and I believe 2) individuals on the periphery of the LI cases who are an uncanny match with the AC composite.

We know from the Casey Anthony forum and other WS forums that LE reads here ... whether they follow all forums or not, we don't know.

Let's hope that LE is checking out any possible connection of these individuals. Otherwise, what's the point of issuing a composite of the AC suspect and not checking into those who are good look-alikes with the composite and have a connection to Kim Raffo, LI and/or OB, CPH ?

I've been following this case off and on. I haven't read anything about prostitutes coming forward with any kind of information about the man who hired Shannan Gilbert. It seems unlikely that he is a first-timer. So what happened to the other women? Why wouldn't they come forward? It seems like they might be able to give us some idea what might have transpired in that house before Shannan fled.

This case has turned my mind into Jello. And I'm trying not to act like Sherlock Holmes. But I just found something that is really weird to me, and I thought I'd share it.

Until this morning, I've never been to that website that someone created for this case. I just took a quick glance at it, and I checked the Facebook page. There was something very creepy on there. Someone named MD repeatedly posted the name "MG" with a phone number. He copied and pasted in multiple posts around 1 a.m. It appeared about 20 times on one post. He just kept posting this. I don't know if it's supposed to be a joke or what. It's as if he wants someone to call the number, which must be for Shannan's mom or sister.

I went to his Facebook page, which is creepy, too. There is a photo of him from waist up, and there is a purse in the background. He lists his city as Brentwood, NY. I can't get any further than his profile pic. He has two that are nearly identical. One has a single comment on it from someone named CB, who commented in November 2010.

A CB has been on all of the Facebook pages associated with the Craigslist girls. A CB also appears on several Long Island dating sites and mentions in one post that she is studying "to become a Crime Scene Cleanup expert."

Her Facebook profile is private except for her profile photo, which only shows a note held in a woman's hand. She also holds a cigarette. The note says, "I appreciate your help...but even you can't save me from myself."

So, where do those words come from? Well, there is a song called Japanese Gum, and here are some of the lyrics:

While it's a challenge to deduce the truth in the real world when you are dealing with deceitful adversaries, I think it impossible to deduce much of anything in a world that is an abstract model of the reality.

I'm going to keep my eyes, mind, and feet in the physical world, close to the actual crime scenes.

Good idea Truthspider, but I think it is wise if some of us keeping looking at the internet as well. I can pretty much guarantee you the SK is reading here, and other sites. Whether he is posting or not is anyone's guess. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't posting somewhere because of the phone calls he made to some of the victim's family. That personality trait indicates someone who likes the idea of a challenge, and is aloof enough to believe that he won't get caught because he is so smart.

I can appreciate that. I wasn't really looking for leads. I just visited that Facebook page, got the creeps and thought I'd share. With that said, I think it's counter-productive to exclude potential online clues. We simply don't have enough of a sample size to predict how bold SKs are likely to be online. We know this individual uses Craigslist and probably some of the other online personals sites, and that makes it likely that he uses social networking sites. I think it's much more challenging to monitor and review the relevancy of stuff that appears online, but the tools to make distinctions between general BS and real leads are improving daily.

I doubt the individual who posted the phone number more than 100 times on a Facebook page is a real person. Perhaps someone who is interested in the case created a series of fake personal ads and then created a fake Facebook page under one name and a second fake Facebook page under another name. If someone went to those lengths to creep out other people, I find it disturbing even if it's no more than some sort of twisted prank.

If I were involved in the investigation, I would think that the odd posting at least warrants some attention. They should track the IP and have a talk with the individual.

Doee listed as Amber's friend is meant to be 'Peaches'. (The unidentified manorville victim. Wasn't part of her remains found at Gilgo?) I do find this creepy! MOO

For the record, the posts were taken down this morning on the Facebook page for the Catch the Long Island Serial Killer website. Now there is a post that says that you will be banned for posting someone's personal information. The page looks like a mess anyway.

Someone made some snarky comment about Websleuths saying we're all sexual predators and killers, lol. I don't know who she's encountered on this site, but I have never committed a crime other than speeding.

Anyway...I find it very creepy that someone posted Shannan's mother's phone number multiple times. Who was this person? Male or female? (I know that we can't name names, but I'm curious as to whether this person was male or female). Just like Waltzingmathilda said, we can't ignore the fact that there have been fake FB pages created for some of the AC murder victims. I don't know who did these things, but it's very hard to ignore the coincidence between these attention-seeking behaviors and the phone calls from the killer to some of the victims' family members.
