There was a an episode of Dateline/48 hours/20/20 a couple of weeks ago where a guy put a body in a suitcase. He was in Miami for a convention and met her in the hotel elevator. He killed her in his room, put her in his luggage and dumped the body a couple of miles away. She was a cruiseline worker.

I read a good article about this in Vanity Fair. The Case of the Vanishing Blonde by Mark Bowden

Someone had mentioned how the Burlap would blend in the environment. I wonder if this is just coincidental. The other is how long it takes for a Body to decompose. Add the Sea Air, we have different seasons so the Temp can go from below Zero to close to 100. Last Summer was Hot and Long followed by a long cold winter as an example.

It also happened in East Harlem in December. The victim's name was Betty Williams. I would not have thought it was so easy to fit bodies into suitcases, but, sadly, apparently it happens often.

koupla things...

it is absolutely true that Amber's junky friends probably don't give two shakes if Amber is dead or missing...a JUNKY will not call the cops..they scatter like roaches when trouble comes, and beleive me...it follows them everywhere.

so...not reported? no suprise , really...

also, did anyone read the posts on the bottom of the weird girl's website...longislandserialkiller or whatever it is? the 4th post stood out...the post mentions links to other murders I am not familiar with...not AC...

I can't look right now ...but check it out.

okay its no#3

Up to 9 bodies now. Could there be a connection with the 4 women the found in Manorville last year. Or the 4 dead prostitutes they found in New Jersey?

Not too sure why some Newsday articles you can view for free, and others only the 1st paragraph without a subscription.

Anyway, Reporter Andrew Strickland is posting updates on his Twitter feed, and, has also discussed the T-Shirt thing.

I don't know if this will be useful or not, but here is a feed for a NY Scanner Twitter, for breaking news:

Do you mean the ones in Manorville? They were mentioned earlier. I thought it was 7 or 8 years ago not last year. But maybe I'm mistaken. I think those bodies were dismembered

Hi Mountain Kat. The one thing that struck me about Megan aside from her larger frame than the other victims is that she was very young looking. Actually, IMO, she was the youngest looking of the 4.

Megan's youthfulness, along with the other women's small stature is why I have opined a few times that the SK may be a RSO who really has an appetite for younger girls. But since he is an RSO he has a record and can't afford to risk affiliations with underage girls any longer. Perhaps he is taking out his anger on these escorts because thay aren't what he REALLY wants.

Just a theory and MOO.

ps Love your posts!

Hi WM. I love you posts too, and always stop and read them through, even if I'm skimming due to time constraints. :)

As for "type"...I'm not convinced our SK has one. I lean toward the idea that our SK is a collector of women. Almost like a bird watcher with a life list. See a cardinal, check it off. Try an older asian escort, check her off. That sort of thing. I think it's a bragging point for him in whatever "secret life" community be belongs to. I also think the "hunt" is part of the thrill for him. As for which women her murders (as opposed to the broader group of women he simply hires), I don't know that I can really pick out a type within that group. EXCEPT, with the exception of SG (who isn't a known victim at this point), they all seemed to be careless in how they dealt with johns. MBB was robbed, and then quite possibly chose to turn a quick trick to recoup her earnings. MW walked to a convenience store from her hotel, and disappeared. So she too might have been meeting a john without any apparent precautions (no driver, no pimp knowing where she was going, etc). ALC, supposedly hands over her cellphone, hops in a car with a john, and is never seen or heard from again. I don't know the circumstances behind MB's disappearance, but I'd bet my farm she showed little to no concern for security either.

So...if all that is in fact the case, our SK is perhaps an opportunity killer. OR, he's a repeat client of all of these victims, and they grew to trust him over time.

(Long winded post. Sorry, I ramble when I'm thinking about things as I type.)

I think they're letting most of the serial killer stories be read for free.

I know I will be stating the obvious, but I wanted to throw it out there anyway...I think at this point there are two perspectives in looking at all this information, rumors, unknowns in this case. First LE must certainly know alot, alot more information that we do or than what has been reported in MSM. As for the perspectives, I think it comes down to what scenario you are inclined to believe.

1. If SG is not connected to the SK in some way then whatever happened to her at Oak Beach is the coincidence of the century. And now you have an SK linked to four prostitutes, and an incident at Oak Beach where another prostitute is now missing that are unrelated. Also, a phone call in a similar fashion was made to her family to try and cover whatever happened to her.

2. If SG is related, and ALC went missing after SG's night at Oak Beach, which has been established clearly, I think, then the SK is unbelievably brazen, arrogant, and cocky. Think about it, whatever happened to SG was a close call for the SK, she nearly escaped. And then he has the confidence to possibly be seen at ALC's home when he picked her up and still murder her? The SK took the risk of being seen with a girl who would eventually go missing. Now granted, none of the bodies had been discovered yet, and the links to each girl were not established, but after SG, he still has the arrogance to willingly pick up an escort and murder her, presumably in his own car, in the general area of the other missing girls.

To me, like nearly everything else in this case, something doesn't add up. I've nearly given up trying to speculate on things, but what is it about this guy? Is he so confident in his abilities to go undetected and noticed? Is there something else about ALC's last night that we don't know yet? I think after SG, although it had been a few months in between, the SK would at least try to keep a low profile and not take risks like picking ALC up at home. Now maybe that's part of the fun for him, seeing how much he can really get away with, like with the phone calls, but still, something is missing for me.
Oh wow, here is what just came to my mind. All the others I bet went to the place they were suppose to be without a drive. My guess they were instructed to come alone, that the john didn't trust because of past experiences and john would be willing to pay more to compensate. SG probably agreed but at last minute she brought her driver!

The john is aware of it somehow and has to rethink his plan. JB could be the SK. Very smart, cunning, confident, arrogant too.

I think manorville seems connected, in light of the fact that we now have a male death , a body in a garbage bag.

one of the victims is a prostitute.

I feel a connection.

One of the earlier articles I read implies that JB was NOT expecting a driver. I think it was his reason as to why the session (in his story) only lasted an hour. Let me know if anyone wants me to try to find the link.

Oh yeah that's right, I don't know why I said he killed her.

no, you are right, DC. He did kill her. The lobby/elevator cameras saw her go in....but did not see her leave, b/c she left in a suitcase.

I am not familiar w/ Manorville.....time to start sleuthing.

Actually he didn't, she appeared on the show. She was beaten unconscious and couldn't remember what happened.
