Especially a dog who had such success in finding so many other remains in the area.:waitasec:

We don't know which type of dog they brought in for the initial search. Tracking dogs may have been foiled by water, but air-scenting dogs should not have had trouble.

It is my understanding that Blue is a cadaver dog, but he could be cross-trained in tracking and/or air scenting. I could be wrong, but i doubt they would have brought in cadaver dogs during the initial search for a missing person. JMO

inspctrgadget,

I agree drowning is a common cause of death; but drowning in a swamp is not that common. Again I ask, has it ever happened on Long Island before?

What is much much more common is dead bodies dumped in swamps by killers.

One has to keep an open mind in these things, keep saying 'what if' 'what are the chances' 'who benefits'.

But, drowning in a swamp when you are high and running through a swamp IS common.

You dont need an open mind, just look to the obvious.

I thought I read somewhere that there are some dogs that are trained to find cadavers under water. It might of been somewhere on Websleuths that I read it. Let me check.

Ms. Gilbert drowned in a marsh (according to LE). I don't know what the difference is between a marsh and a swamp, however. I guess it really doesn't matter. What you propose is possible, IMHO.

... In no way am I spouting false information, and I absolutely demand that you provide a link to any source material where Diaz or Pak claimed that they went to CPH's house because they were aware of the "original" phone call because that is false information.
<rsbm>

It was the poster Mari Gilbert on the LISK site who stated (paraphrased from memory) that the family gave Diaz and/or Pak Hackett’s information because they had received the “original” call from him.

Maybe you could provide source material wherein Diaz and/or Pak have stated otherwise or specifically denied that claim.

we have wetlands, we do not have swamps. I don't know where you are from, but I am from right here, and people don't drown in wetlands ever.

What's not so obvious is how SG would have made it 3/4 of the way through that area in the dark, almost out the other side, when searchers / first responders on the scene were unable to access that very same swamp(?) in the daylight hours immediately after SG went missing.

can't we assume if the initial search was the day she went missing, they would not have brougt a cadavre dog? I don't know anything about this subject, just guessing....

Interesting, I don't struggle with that question at all... After she was killed, the perp needed a place to put her where he didn't expect anyone was going to find her or smell her or link her back to him. but he didn't have the same freedom of movement (ocean parkway) as usual, because rightly so he would expect eyes were now wide open in the area. He used this new location because it was easier to access without being seen.

IMO, they would bring basic search dogs (tracking or air-scenting) for a missing person. Also, IMO they should have been able to find SG with such a fresh scent.

I agree truth ... i believe SG was not found at that time because she simply wasn't there.

That makes sense, IMHO.

Is it just me or does the drawing of the Asian victim look Latino and/or Native American? How wonder how the ME determined race?

I did find the link here. There are "water search dogs" that are trained to locate dead bodies under water. Here is the link:

http://www.k9forensic.org/faq.html

I don't think we know what K9 resources were available or which ones were used, so IMO, unless all their dogs are trained as water cadaver dogs (highly unlikely), they would not have brought in such a specialized K9 to what was initially a missing person search.

We don't know the timespan between SG's disappearance and the K9 search, but if it was a short timeframe, the decomp process may not have been far enough advanced to be detected by cadaver dogs.

Some people on this forum are enigmas wrapped inside of a sk.

You know, I was going to invite everyone over to my place for a Super Bowl party, but not after that comment. And to think that I actually trusted some of you people!

In seriousness, Truth. Do you actually think the SK is posting on this forum? We've all probably wondered that at some point. I know I have. But how could you possibly be certain about it? I mean, some posts have been suspicious, but it's quite a leap to accuse anyone here of being a sk. The people who post on that evil Sub-Reddit forum we were discussing a few days ago? Well that's another story.....

I agree with you, Billy. Which begs the question: how the hell did a young woman who "accidentally drowned" end up in a marsh a year later? Faeries? :waitasec:

I'm not so sure about that. Those disgusting Woman hating Sub-Reddit posters are probably actually inferior husbands that take orders from their wifes every day.I don't think an actual SK would be so obvious as to post on a public forum even if it's anonymous.
I also don't think an actual Sk would dare to post here because he would soon figure out what awesome sleuths we are.
He would definetely read here though,IMO
