Oh wow!

4' 10" not very tall, but we do shrink in height with age.

Strawberry blonde is unusual, especially in the age range provided!

I wonder if the person was younger?

Yes the whole thing is really strange iam reading different articles and ..the woman that lived there upstairs from the store had been evicted and was supposedly a hoarder.. she was evicted moved out left a bunch of stuff along with the mummified little body..

A Queens landlord made a horrifying housecleaning discovery after a tenant’s eviction — uncovering the rotted remains of a corpse amid a heap of trash.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the decomposed body was that of a man or a woman, how long the body had been abandoned or if a crime was committed, police said Monday.

The tenant, a 59-year-old woman, was evicted last Monday from her apartment on Northern Blvd. near Browvale Lane in Douglaston, which is above a store that buys and sells silver and gold.

On Sunday afternoon, the landlord went into the apartment to clear out clothing and other items the woman — possibly a hoarder — left behind. He then found the decomposed body amid the abandoned trash.

Police are looking for the ex-tenant. Those who know her said she is morbidly obese and had recently required medical attention, with an ambulance crew wheeling her from the building as she flashed a cheery thumbs up.

She’d been living in the apartment for more than 20 years, they said, though a man working at the corner deli said until the ambulance showed up, he had no idea anyone lived there.

"I didn’t even know somebody existed up there,” said the worker, who identified himself only by his first name, David. “It didn’t look like she was off her noodle or anything.”

Sounds so interesting to live in an apartment over a store!

With a mummified body, well, no thanks.

So as far as we know, the evicted tenant was the only person on the lease?

Wonder what that tenant has to say....

There was a case in Australia a few years ago where someone broke into the hoarder's house and the hoarder shot the intruder and left him in the rubbish. There's a thread in WS for it somewhere.

ETA: found it

Also one with a body found after many months -- and agencies really worked to determine when the person had died because a law had changed? Might also be in Australia?

Former Mouseketeer Dennis Day was found deceased in his own house -- after police officers had been in the room with his body:

I don’t understand how Nobody smelled anything at any point? The buildings are all close by. There are stores downstairs and looks like an apartment in the building that is attached next door.o_O

There was a sad case in Brookline MA a few years ago...two elderly sisters lived together. One died and the other simply didn’t know what to do and did nothing. It happens. I wonder if the deceased was her mother, aunt, etc.

Oh yes I remember that case. Oh yes it is sad.
Iam still blown away how nobody smelled a thing here.
