It's my pleasure! This week has gotten away from me, so I have not been able to follow up yet. I will definitely call next week. :)

The Model Vanishes - Nymag

(Snip from the article above)

That’s the way he’s survived in recent years, living with a series of women, and men. The only reason he moved in with Gruart at the end of the summer was because his benefactor at the time, an elderly man on Barrow Street, died of a liver disorder, right after Mario was arrested for possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. “He was an old man who drank two or three bottles a night,” explains Mario. “He supported me in many, many ways. And I took care of him in what he needed.”

In case he doesn’t meet a new patron right away,

I wonder if any of his other living partners went missing??? also wonder how true the story of his last benefactor dying of liver disorder and natural causes really is...

I actually found the Brother online and his reptiles.. I also found his list of YouTube videos.. Makes you wonder.... hmmmm.

Lourdes has been missing for fifteen years now. There doesn't appear to be any recent updates for this case. Her brother's actions are definitely odd but LE concluded that he isn't a suspect. Since this happened in New York City, I doubt he would have been able to get away with hiding her body if he was involved.

People still can get rid of bodies in NYC and not get caught.. it was 2000 when she went missing..they still did not have as many cameras all over as they have now. And even with all the cameras they have all over now.. people are still vanishing here and Turning up and nobody knows who they are.
Maybe the brother wanted people to think he could not be smart enough to commit a crime but in reality he was.
I think it’s odd nobody saw or heard the removal of the couch.

I just randomly googled the brothers’s name and see where he was charged in a string of burglaries in FL in the 80’s. Not sure I can post the link.
He was acting suspiciously and a deputy approached him and found the guy had a crowbar stuffed under his shirt.

He dove into a lake to escape but was later apprehended. Had a gun and stolen jewelry in his car. Interesting individual….

Oh wow that is really interesting. The Brother is one shady character. I had not seen any of that. It’s still blows nobody in the building heard or saw anything.

Wish there were more photos of her. I have always suspected the brother. But searched her name online today and I did find someone online that lived in Plantation FL and also in NY and Bronx and seems her age. I wonder if she did have mental breakdown and just left. I wonder if they have checked her SS number.. they must have . I don’t know just thinking out loud here.

I totally agree! I need to go back and read the initial articles, but if I remember correctly, no evidence was left in the apartment. IMO.
