On Wednesday, Martin, 28, was sentenced to 20 years in prison under a plea deal, after her heartsick family spoke of the unbearable grief they have endured since that tragic day and will continue to endure for many, many years...

The pair had met outside a Port Richmond deli and went to the Ramada Inn on North Gannon Avenue, Willowbrook, but weren't allowed in because Martin had previously trashed a room there, said a law enforcement source. The pair proceeded to nearby Willowbrook Park knowing that it would be deserted at that hour, a source said. Her body was found in the woods there almost two weeks later...

Speaking through an interpreter, Martin, who pleaded guilty last month to first-degree manslaughter, appealed to the victim's family. "I know I made a huge mistake," he said.
