A follower of our Facebook page suggested Terrie Lynn Hefner as a match (I submitted to DiMase).

Everything else seem to match, but I note discrepancies - Terrie's jaw is much bigger than the UID. Her chin is also flatter than the UID's. And the top of Terrie's nose is deeper than the UID's.A follower of our Facebook page suggested Terrie Lynn Hefner as a match (I submitted to DiMase).
Thoughts?
Have they done isotopes yet for this girl?
Terrie's NamUs:

A little taller and older than our Jane Doe, but her eyebrows, nose, and matching mole are drawing me in.
Nikon, I agree Terrie's jaw is bigger, but wondering if Jane's may look different because she is lying down in the photos?
Does anyone know if there is a namus profile for MVJD? Wondering if Barbara Cotton had been looked at or ruled out. I just noticed in her description a dark brown mole on the upper right side of her chest. I know MVJD shows it closer to the neck or clavicle, but you never know how people will describe things.

From my conversation with Det. DiMase on May 12:
Because MVPD didn't collect MVJD's DNA (was done by county OCME), they will not release the DNA to Smithsonian for isotope testing, because the 2 isotope labs (I believe one in FL, one in TX) are not NY accredited.
However, there are now 3 labs that are NYS accredited for ethnicity testing, which he is working on.

Bhttp://doenetwork.org/cases/1dfnd.htmlarbara Cotton was ruled out on 3/22/16 per Det. DiMase
She is not listed as a rule out here: https://identifyus.org/en/cases/10229
You'd think after two months that it would be on NAMUS.
Also says "mole on right side of neck". http://doenetwork.org/cases/1dfnd.html
There is a lot of benefit to having a straight on and a profile photos of a unidentified people. I recently found a profile photo of this jane doe and it changed how I saw her a little bit. Her birthmark on her neck looks looks longer and more oval than I expected.
Gale-force wind tore down 15 stories of metal construction scaffolding around a building in White Plains, N.Y. At least 22 traffic deaths were blamed on the weather.
Snow and rain made conditions slushy in the New York metropolitan area yesterday. As much as 12 inches of snow fell over northwest New Jersey.
''We've got problems all over the place,'' Jerry Valek, a New York Thruway dispatcher, said of conditions on the highway from New York City to Albany.
For past few days I am trying to reread whole MVJD thread just to refresh details from years ago. One thing I have noticed that was not discussed yet, crossed my mind few times before, is weather. Winter New York is known in Europe for their snow calamities, people with big shovels and cars covered by snow to top.
Surprisingly, exactly on 12-13th February 1988 were also major snowstorms on east coast. Schools, offices and airports closed, even presidential campaign appearances were cancelled on the day.

Sounds like pretty awful weather. Poor MVJD.
PS: Not that it might be related but on 13th Feb was also official opening of Winter Olympic Games in Calgary. Me and my friends usually gather to watch such ceremonies.
I am so thrilled that MVJD crime scene photo (her face) has been made public now too! She looks so real there and I just wonder why they did not publish this photo years ago publicly in the first place rather then her gruesome postmortem NamUs photo. She was so beautiful.

Jess, Carl, Roselvr and others, thank you for keeping her case going.
And Jess, special thank you :rose: for keeping all MVJD info and photos in one place on her FB page, for all the work and legwork (literally).
Let's bring this girl home...
(feeling emotional)
