Just wanted to post another potential. Don't know if she's been mentioned before and for some reason I can't find the namus page to check rule outs.

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/minish_becky.html

I know Becky is in NamUs. Had to go thru her WS thread. No clue why her last name was changed in NamUs - Becky Edmondson
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/703/0/

A fellow WS'er suggested that we start a petition to get isotope testing done for MVJD. So we did! If you're not following her FB page, here is the link to the petition. Please sign and share with anyone else who would be interested in helping. Thank you!

https://www.change.org/p/captain-ed...rnon-ny-jane-doe-petition-for-isotope-testing

The petition was a great idea! It's the only way we're going to know if she was born in another country and possibly how long she's been here if they test bone, hair and finger nails. It's very important that they do isotopes! Currently 47 signatures :(

I see a slight resemblance between them, but Rosie would have been 30 in 1988 when MVJD was found. MVJD looks much younger to me, closer to the age that Rosie was in 1978 when she first went missing.
This is a great find, even if she doesn't turn out to be this UID. I'm thinking she might match another one, though.
OT, Schlicker is such a cool name.

I also feel she would be too old, it is highly doubtful that she's MVJD. Melissa Gregory was on top of it, contacted LE when she saw me enter Rosie's case. I had wondered if Rosie's pics were arrest photos (they are) because they looked similar to another MP that I entered where I cropped out the police info board. They have finger prints, Rosie also had a Harley Davidson tattoo on right buttocks, scar on right hand and pierced ears. I emailed her back to check if LE has DNA kits to get a sample since Rosie's family reported her missing. I found her photos larger on LE's web site.

If you have not signed the petition, please do so. I was pretty bummed when I saw it at 47 signatures, I started sharing it all over, Jess shared it too; we now have 126 supporters

We need to stress that its very possible she's from Brazil, Chile, Portugal or any other South American country. The only way to know is to test bone, hair, teeth and finger nails. The bones and teeth will confirm if she was born here or another country, the hair and teeth will tell how long she was in Mount Vernon. If you share the petition, it's good to include that info.

Jess, there is one case that is really standing out right now, Buckskin Girl; pollen was done a few months ago, isotope testing of her hair was just done. They were using what they had without exhuming her, her clothes and some hair. You may want to add this info to the letter your gonna send with the petition as it will be one of the best examples, the other is the Allenstown NH Jane Does isotope info. When you're ready to submit it, let me know I can grab the NH links.

Here's a followup to the so-called "Buckskin Girl" case from 1981 -- the unknown young woman whose body was found in Miami County, Ohio in April of 1981. PLEASE share this with your FB friends in the Southwest, especially north-central Texas and southern Oklahoma, as we have a new lead that she spent time in that specific area during the year before she was killed (so, during the year 1980). This woman was 18-26 years of age, 130 pounds and 5'6", and had perfect teeth -- other than a single crown on a front tooth (indicative, perhaps, of a chipped tooth, so she must have had the financial resources to have good dental work). Her hair was in braids, as depicted below, at the time she was found, and she was wearing the handmade jacket and unusual sweater shown in the images. Her body was found by the side of the road within a day or so after she was killed.

A few months ago I reported on pollen studies that suggested this Jane Doe was likely from the Northeastern US, but had also traveled to the Southwest US or Mexico (or at least her distinctive clothing had been in or was from those areas). The latest testing on her hair shows a chronology that includes travel (several trips) to north-central Texas and/or southern Oklahoma in the year prior to her death, as well as time spent in "cooler climates" (which could be the Northeastern US, as the pollen studies indicated). These stable isotope tests on hair show the same type of chronology as drug studies might, but provide a geographic history based on groundwater isotopes that we incorporate into our bodies from food/drink we consume (rather than showing a history/chronology of substance abuse). This "Buckskin Girl" may have been reported missing in the Northeast US (if that's where she lived), rather than the Southwest US (where she was traveling) -- but someone in either region may know something that could help.

These old cases are running out of time, as loved ones and friends who might know these unknown persons grow old and pass away. Our ability to collect DNA on the relatives of missing persons is likewise time-sensitive. So please consider sharing with FB friends in the Southwest and Northeast areas of the US. Thanks for your help! For more information, visit the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs); her case profile is: https://identifyus.org/en/cases/4790 It's a mystery to me as to why no one seems to be looking for this young lady. I hope that someone out there is and will find her. THANKS for your help!

Utah firm makes breakthrough in 1981 Ohio murder case - By John Hollenhorst | Posted Jul 6th, 2016 @ 10:43pm
TROY, Ohio — Homicide detectives in Ohio have a new breakthrough in a murder case that's baffled them for 35 years, and they're giving credit to innovative forensic techniques developed by a company in Salt Lake City...
...Now, a Utah lab analysis of the young woman's hair — preserved since she was buried in 1981 — may help crack the case. Chemical isotopes in her hair point to a specific area in north Texas and southern Oklahoma as the victim's possible home.

Into Texas - One region stands out like a bull's-eye on the map. It's a rough circle encompassing a region that runs from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area of north Texas into southern Oklahoma.

"That's the only region in the United States that tap water corresponds to those isotope values in her hair," Tipple said.

Although the data suggests Jane Doe was traveling most of her last year, she was in the north Texas region twice, staying there for at least two months each time. That leads to the possibility she once lived in that region or had close ties there.

It's possible the first of her stays in that region was much longer than two months. Evidence of that visit was detected in isotopes at the very end of the strands of her hair, at the point where the hair was trimmed off decades ago. It's possible she'd been living in that area for many months, perhaps years, but the evidence was lost in Jane Doe's last haircut.

The new evidence supports an earlier finding by a different laboratory that studied pollen in the victim's clothing. In the buckskin coat, the analysis found pollen that is characteristic of plants in northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. That area includes north Texas.

Updated rule-out list for Mount Vernon Jane Doe. Not all ruleouts have been listed in NamUs, but are confirmed by Det. DiMase. He recently transferred units in MVPD so I assume he will update NamUs when he settles in.

That fb write-up was very moving, well done!
Having said that, what a horrible thing to happen to that young girl and the way she was left, showed absolutely no respect for either the victim, or whomever would discover her remains.
It is curious that her ankles were crossed and her arms and hands spread open, reminiscent of a " crucifixion ", imo.
Also odd that she was tied up, but then untied after death, either the killer wanted to keep whatever he used as " restraints " or he worried about dna, which might explain why he also took all of her clothing.
The other killer besides LISK, that this reminds me of, is EAR, a rapist and serial killer who operated in the California area and who has still not been apprehended.
He tied up his victims with an elaborate diamond design, but once that was reported, he would remove those bindings after death.

Speculation, imo.

Timing would be right if EAR moved to the east coast

Mount Vernon - NY Jane Doe - Found Deceased Feb. 14, 1988 - 177 signatures! Please help us reach our goal of 200! It's very possible she's from Brazil, Chile, or any other South American country. She may possibly be from Portugal. The only way to know is to test bone, hair, teeth and fingernails. The bones and teeth will confirm if she was born here or another country; the hair and teeth will tell how long she was in Mount Vernon - so it's very important that they test isotopes! See Below for the recent testing of a Jane Doe known as Buckskin Girl. Hair isotopes confirm she had been in a specific part of Texas and Oklahoma as far back as one year before her murder as they found it in both the ends and new growth.

Thank you so very much to everyone who has signed our petition!

Any updates on Tina Walls yet?

Not yet, but I'm pretty sure she's going to be a rule out due to the fact that we found legal documents in her name after 1988 :/

Wow, maybe that's a good thing for Tina's family, it gives them some hope, but on the other hand, that's too bad for MVJD. She's the best possibility so far, IMHO.

Want to post this so everyone can see what isotope results look like, it's hair and tooth for a John Doe who committed suicide in Grays Harbor Washington 9/17/2001. He checked into a motel using Lyle Stevik for a few days, they found he hung himself. A few of his advocates ordered it via FOIA. Michigan is included in the report, there is an email that says if rain water is used, Canada can't be ruled out because they share the Great Lakes. I belong to a MI missing group, MI gets Does from Canada in the waters

I skimmed through the isotopes for Lyle Stevik. It looked like he sure traveled a lot. I wonder if he were a salesman, hence the name.

I wonder if he worked with computers; like he traveled servicing them and if he was a military brat as a kid, that would explain the areas from the tooth isotope testing.
I wonder what company did Buckskin girl's because her hair isotope pin pointed an area of Texas and Oklahoma better then Lyle's hair sample

Would it matter that they had longer hair to work with than this UP?
