So glad this 🤬🤬🤬 was caught. I am worried that he will get out on bail or that his fleeing the crime scene has made it impossible to charge him with a DUI homicide. I fully believe he was drinking and fled due to that.

I hope he is charged in the death of the infant as well. I hope that the jail time he gets for all the charges are all consecutive and NOT concurrent,

But they can still charge him with vehicular manslaughter (or vehicular homicide...does that exist), leaving the scene of an accident (hit and run)....

Manslaughter added in NYC crash that killed couple

NEW YORK (AP) — A motorist already accused in a horrific hit-and-run traffic accident that killed a pregnant woman and her husband in Brooklyn was charged Tuesday with three counts of second-degree manslaughter, including one for the death of the couple's premature child.

Julio Acevedo also was indicted on three new counts of criminally negligent homicide to go along with a lesser charge, announced earlier this month, of leaving the scene of an accident. He could face up to life in prison if convicted.................

Hynes cited evidence that Acevedo was traveling nearly 70 miles per hour — more than twice the legal speed limit — on March 3 when he crashed into a hired car carrying Nachman and Raizy Glauber, who were on their way to a hospital. Police had previously put his speed at about 60 mph.

In addition, firefighter and civilian witnesses described Acevedo driving a borrowed BMW recklessly and accelerating as he passed their vehicles and rounded a curve moments before impact, prosecutors said.

Good Samaritans who stopped to help the crash victims told investigators that Acevedo assured them he wasn't hurt. Prosecutors allege that he slipped away on foot, fully aware of the carnage.............more at link.....

A speeding driver who crashed into a hired car taking expectant parents to a New York City hospital has been convicted in the deaths of the couple and their baby, who was delivered alive after the wreck but didn't survive.

Julio Acevedo was found guilty Thursday night of two counts of second-degree manslaughter and one count of criminally negligent homicide. The latter charge was related to the baby's death.

Acevedo could face up to life in prison when he is sentenced on March 18.

:floorlaugh:

I hope they throw the book at him the coward for as long as possible. I feel so sad that this lovely young couple and their child died due to the dangerous and reckless actions of this individual. If only they hadn't left at that particular time. It's a reminder that you should never take life for granted it can be taken from you in an instant.

Just want to say the smilie was an accident there is nothing funny about this tragedy
