Resolved NY - NYC, HispFem UP16988, 25-40, Possibly Maribel or Marisela, Jul'17 *GRAPHIC* - Name withheld

in her record it says she Went in.. so I am assuming she walked in?

Unknown, possibly homeless, Hispanic female went to NY Presbyterian-Columbia Hospital where she later expired. At the hospital she gave her name as Maribel or Marisela. Fingerprints come back to various names, including Ole Hidalgo and Adara Mendoza Gonzalez. None of these names have been verified and no next of kin has been located.

I know the area where the Hospital is very well. Its by Washington Heights there are many Hispanics/Latinos there. I wonder if they have put flyers around the neighborhood or posted it someplace where Hispanic people could read it..

I'm not sure about she walked in. They say no clothes and accessories. I can't image she walked in naked...hmmmmm

Yea.. that's the part that has me stumped. The wording makes it sound like she walked in but she wouldn't have walked in nude. That makes it sound like she presented to the ED via ambulance... but even that seems a little odd unless she was in the bathroom/shower etc when she got ill.. but then there would be a location to go back to in order to look for next of kin. Right? [emoji848]
I'm going to see if there are any additional news articles I can find

That would rule out Marinelly then.

In the other close up picture on Namusthere is not that big of a cleft chin. I actually think this could be her...To me it's obvious that she is not a natural blond. And there are not a lot of women within the weight range... although Marinelly doesn't have the kind of blown up earlobs (I'm not sure what could happen to them when you are deceased) she has special earlobs. Looking at the other picture Marinelly ears could have been like from the front only showing the upper ear and a peace of her earlobes "sticking out" like a lot of Hawaiian people have. Considering the time between missing and found (if she was pregnant when missing) she could have giving birth....I would like to see the coroner report.....

If she spent any time in the hospital, she would have been dressed in a hospital gown and her clothes and personal effects put in a separate bag. Perhaps they were misplaced?

That could be what happened.

So this might be a long shot but what caught my eye is her name and I think she has a similar nose and face shape: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/35976/

Marinelly Freire

67900

(There are 2 other pictures of her at the Namus link but they are copying to be huge when I try to bring them here)

MF's height: 67-68" UID Height: 67"
MF's weight: 145-215 UID Weight: 208
Eye Color: Brown UID Eyes: Brown
Hair Color: Blonde, but looks naturally darker from eyebrows and other pictures. UID Hair: Brown

Marinelly went missing from Queens, NY in Nov 2016 when she did not board a plane to Puerto Rico. Over 8 months her hair would have time to grow out to her more natural color. What really intrigues me is that her first name is so close to what the UID gave at the ER.

If anyone thinks this is a good match, please submit her. I'm only going to suggest here. :tyou:

Did anyone submit her? I think it looks like she could be a match...Marinelly has a very faint cleft chin and you can't even see it all in this other photo, so I don't think that would rule her out. I don't have a noticeable cleft chin but in some photos of me, it looks like I do because of shadows / the face I'm making. Plus, the decedent's face / head may have been swollen in that PM photo.

What do you guys make of the 4" long traverse scar on her lower abdomen? Is that long enough to be a possible C-Section scar?
I have the same scar, but mine is from a hysterectomy. Have never had children.

No one has said they submitted her yet. Anyone want to send it in? I'm not sure on the chin... but good point on the swelling. :(

Marinelly Freire looks really good, I think. I'm sleuthing and trying to find more information about her, especially if she's had surgeries or a criminal history (what the multiple names from UP's fingerprints made me think of?), or even family. The only thing even remotely interesting thus far is that I found a baby registry for a Marinelly and Danny Freire with a due date of Feb 2017 and a location in Jersey City, NJ (which matches the missing city of the missing Marinelly above. Some people suggested the scar might be a C-section, so that's why it jumped out at me.

I was going to submit to the Doe Network but it looks like she doesn't have a Doe Network page, so I don't think I can? Not sure why they don't have a page for her...

Thanks (hug)

You are awesome to submit her digi! I notice that Marinelly's profile has no DNA, no Dentals and no fingerprints. So it might take a long time for them to find a way to compare her and rule out. Hopefully, Marinelly has close relatives that can offer DNA. I tried to find any media coverage of her case and found nothing.

Wow, interesting! Doesn’t that usually happen when the person has been found / matched?

I'm still new to this, but that's what I've been told! I'm going to keep a close eye on this Jane Doe's profile to see if there is any movement. Really hopeful on this one, but it does bring up so many questions since there is so little about Marinelly out there.
