She has some past presence in Texas and possible links there, as also confirmed by a linkedin profile with her photo

She recently lost her mother

Anyhow I hope she is safe and just travelling . There is again so little information I wonder. Who notified LE ? Does she have a car? Is it missing ? What about her phone ?
These cases are frustrating, and worrying. So many women and men go missing it is apalling I wonder how LE is keeping up.

The lawsuit in Trellis link you shared was for a suit still technically open wherein Penny was driving a car hit by a commercial truck driven by S. S. that had blown a tire and thus had a loss of control, hitting her car. Penny was suing the driver, the driver's employer, and company that put the tire on (there is a fee to subscribe to the whole document but you can read the introduction with the summary of facts for free) PLTS MTN FOR NO EVID SJ - NO EVIDENCE MOTION FOR SUMMARY JUDGMENT August 10, 2023 The accident that prompted the lawsuit is in Dallas County Court Records. Dallas County Criminal Background Search Case No. DC-21-02858
Penny dropped the lawsuit and it was dismissed with Prejudice (screenshot of court document from the court record you can get to through the link is attached). DALLAS COUNTY, TEXAS COURTS PORTAL

The other listings for her are vehicular charges (speeding mostly)

''Jamie Bush was charged with three felonies - one count of second-degree murder and two counts of tampering with physical evidence, deputies said. She was arraigned in Mendon Town Court on Friday and was remanded to the Monroe County Jail without bail.''

''Deputies that Penny Busch had not lived in the Honeoye Falls area for long. She was raised in Schenectady, and spent time in Texas before she moved to Monroe County roughly a year ago. She had two sisters - including Jamie Busch - and two children, according to the sheriff's office.''

Penny and Jamie's mother recently passed away too. Will this speak to the motive here, maybe?

If you read through the obituary, i noticed when it first posted that Penny's sister Wendi had also passed away, Her obituary online showed it was only a few years ago (cancer). That left 3 sisters to inherit, Penny, Jamie, and Traci. That could be a motive, but I didn't speculate. In my family's case, since my brother died of cancer in his early 50's, we made a family decision to leave my Dad's estate to the grandchildren equally for their college My brother was a single Dad and hadn't been able to save for their further education. That was OK with me, it helped them finish their nursing education. It was all set up in a trust ahead of time.

So police found the disappearance suspicious from the start:
Baxter said that deputies were called on Oct. 11 to perform a welfare check on Penny Busch, who they did not locate upon arriving at home. But deputies noted "a few things that were odd, out of the ordinary," and called in the office's criminal investigation unit.

I'm reading through the thread and then - WHOA. Did not see this coming. A sister killing a sister?! Ouch, that's bad.

jmo
It really surprised me too, actually thought (due to the 911 request) this would be a case of self harm.
A sister allegedly murdering her sister, is beyond tragic, imo, speculation.

Jamie Busch was immediately placed on leave from her position as a paraprofessional in the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District. The district made counseling services available to its community for support.

Jamie Bush was charged with three felonies - one count of second-degree murder and two counts of tampering with physical evidence, deputies said. She was arraigned in Mendon Town Court on Friday and was remanded to the Monroe County Jail without bail.

Deputies apprehended Busch's sister Friday within hours of the body being identified.

A court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.

Does anyone know or heard what Jamie did exactly in her position? I assume she was a "teacher's aide" but more conformation would be lovely. I would like to believe that she had minimal contact with the children but I fear they are providing care teams for anyone needing it leads me to think she was with the kids. I want to give a huge thumbs up to the school system here for doing this for anyone who needs help. I hope this doesn't affect any of the children badly.

A body recovered from the Genesee River has been identified as 62-year-old Penny Busch, a missing woman from Honeoye Falls.

Her sister, 53-year-old Jamie Busch, also of Honeoye Falls, has been charged with murder and evidence tampering.

Jamie Busch, a paraprofessional at the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District, has been placed on leave. She is currently held at Monroe County Jail without bail, with a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.

Authorities say Penny Busch’s disappearance had been under investigation as suspicious before the discovery of her body last week
