In a felony complaint shared by WHEC and reviewed by PEOPLE, investigators allege Jamie strangled Penny on Oct. 8 between 4:50 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. during a physical altercation.

And she tossed Penny's 3 phones in the trash at Dunkin Donuts.
I sounds like they don't know when Jamie allegedly dumped Penny's body in the river. (So there goes my theory that phone pings on Jamie's phone (or Penny's phone) led to the location where they found the body.)
I would think they could tell if a body had been in the river for days or for a few hours, but if the latter the body was already likely decomposing, so that might be more challenging to determine timing. (sorry for the graphic comment)

Surely this must relate to their mother's recent death...no?
So many people fight over the family 'estate', even if it's not large.

I'll be watching for the outcome of this case.

Wow, was not expecting that as I started reading the thread. I thought maybe the 911 in the headline was because Penny herself was wanted by police!

This one will be interesting to follow. RIP, pretty lady.

I'm curious if the sister moved the body to the river by herself?

Police believe Jamie Jo Busch threw her sister’s body into the Genesee River sometime between October 8 and October 12.''

So, the original info said Penny was last seen 6 Oct at her home, the arrest details said Jamie strangled Penny on 8 Oct, police were called to the home for a welfare check on 11 Oct (and decided things were suspicious), and authorities believe Jamie threw Penny's body in the river between 8 Oct and 12 Oct... Where was Penny from the 6th to the 8th, and where was Jamie when they did the welfare check on the 11th??

This is so tragic :(

Jamie Busch has been found guilty of murder in the death of her sister, Penny. Sentencing will be in April.

February 24, 2026

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Jamie Busch has been found guilty of killing her sister, Penny Busch, and hiding her body in October of 2024. Busch was found guilty of murder in the second degree, and two counts of tampering with evidence.

Jamie had no visible or audible reaction when the court read out her guilty verdicts. Her composure didn’t change a bit, not even when officers handcuffed and led her out of the courtroom.

Wagner said the prosecution will go for the maximum sentence in April, which for this case would send Jamie to prison for the rest of her life.
