Two bodies were recently found floating in Breezy Point and Battery Park, but Krommidas' mother says they were not her son

“As the weather warms, those lost at sea often start to surface giving us hope that nature will help bring our Peter back to us," she said. "Please continue to help. Your efforts are invaluable."

A Long Island politician who went missing earlier this year will still appear on the November ballot after a judge ruled his name must stay on the roster since he has not been declared legally dead.
Oof. I understand why they would do that, but that's got to be tough for his family and friends to watch results come in. I feel for them...it'll be heartbreaking if he wins, and heartbreaking if he doesn't. :(

I visit long island semi-yearly so I wanted to throw my hat in the ring about recent ocean wildlife movements. The ocean has been healing around there but that also means that tons of ocean wildlife have been moving back in recent years. Within the last two years I have seen not one but two whales off of the beaches… Alongside a few sharks larger than I had previously seen there, a pod of dolphins, and a larger number of seals. It has been setting in during the recent years and most locals aren’t used to the new variety of wildlife quite yet. They are exploring the area and as such seem much more likely to turn up in shallower waters. Stay safe out there people, I hope he is found…
